Darrok Sunspear

Darrok Sunspear is what every girl and boy in Ars Aurum and its surroundings want to be when they grow up. Tall, strong, a master with any blade and most other weapons, handsome, and dedicated, he rose to prominence quickly within the Order of Watchers. Like some few of the Unblooded, he was born in the shadow of The Breaking and grew up within the Keep of the Breaking. His father was a Knight Watcher and his mother had been trained, but ultimately found herself unsuited for the task and remained within the Keep to serve the Order through means other than fighting. Darrok grew up only seeing his father on the rare occasions when the Knight was relieved of duty to train Unblooded or take time with his family, but his mother raised him to love and respect the Order and its mission. When he turned fourteen, Darrok became an Unblooded both to fulfill his parents' dreams for him and to be closer to his absent father. At sixteen, Darrok was given the opportunity to become a Vigil, but it was too late. Before he had a chance to tell his parents, his father had been killed fighting a Greater Outsider. 
Darrok only pursued his father's dream with ever greater resolve following the man's death. He had spent little time with his father through his life, but the ideal of self sacrificing duty and honor had left their mark on the young man. At only nineteen, Darrok became a full Knight Watcher. Though his mother worried about him greatly, he volunteered for the most dangerous positions on the walls and was eager to join every expedition to the Breaking to confront the Outsiders there. At thirty, Darrok confronted the very same Outsider that had slain his father and routed it, though at the cost of the lives of the other Knights who fought beside him. Bleeding and near to death, a group of Vigil carried the feverish man back to the infirmary where he was nursed back to health. 
The Council of Elders presented Darrok with Cynddaredd yr Haul and the title of Champion when he recovered from his wounds. For years, Darrok served at the front of every expedition he wasn't too wounded to join and patrolled the walls daily so long as he could leave his bed in the infirmary. Still, as time went on, he grew more and more convinced that he wasn't doing enough.
In AS 10109, against the will of the Council of Elders Darrok left the Keep of the Breaking, convinced that he could do more good as the Champion of the Order of Watchers outside the Keep than he could by fighting pointless battles on the walls of the Keep.
