Over six thousand years ago, Astrael opened his eyes to the greater purpose of the universe. He had been a master of several mystical arts, having spent much of his life in the mountains of Ars Arjin thinking on the nature of existence. In time, the secrets of the world did open to him, and Atsrael saw through the barriers of existence. He Ascended, becoming more than a man, and… remained in his mountains
Challengers did come seeking Atsrael’s power, but more came to seek his wisdom. The order of monks that rallied around him and the inhospitable mountains proved strong enough to defend the young Ascended, and in time his mastery grew until none alive could hope to slay him without great cost. Still, Atsrael stayed in his mountains, seeking and offering wisdom. Even today, he sits and he thinks. Those who survive the trails and trials of the mountain pass to reach him are permitted two questions to the ancient sage, and the iron eyes see only truth.
