The Catling family

Estates, endless land and plenty of power to play with. The Catling family are probably the closest thing to aristocratic family that can be found in the progressive community of Thalasia.

The Catling family are a very wealthy and influential Halfling family that control most of the land, housing and, most profitably, factory and business space in the area. Meaning that the amount of rent they command gives them significant wealth in the south of Thalasia.  The family have also built a strong alliance with other families in the area and fund much of the southern side of the nations defences against the disorganised rabble of The Islets of Thalasia and the more menacing threat of The Coven... they are especially proud of their committed investment in the Thalasian navy.  Recently, the Catling family have been bonding with the Ironheart Town noble family, the Ironhearts in the hope of building a strong family alliance between then. Especially through the upcoming marriage of the Catlin family's only daughter, Iris... there is also a rumour that they have become more aggressive in their liaisons with the family amid a minor controversy in their home of Mornarica when the son of another noble family had been courting and romancing Iris in secret. The current head of the family is Paola Catling, the matriarch of the family. A domineering and 'properly mannered' woman who runs the family and it's finances. She is a widow and so has placed all of her attentions on her daughter Iris. The family are good looking and known for their graceful features, striking green eyes, red curly hair and their soul arms, ruby gem-covered lockets that offer the wielder protection against strikes.
