Privy Council, High Kingdom of Imesse

The Privy Council of the High Kingdom of Imesse is the senior advisory council of the High King of Imesse. It's size, composition and frequency are all quite variable, but it ususally meets at least once a week at the Palace at Northridge, with or without the High King in attendance. It is currently made up of the highest ranking officials of the Kingdom, including (but not limited to) the Lord Chancellor, the Lord Chamberlain, the Lord Exchequer, the Lord Defender, the Lord High Constable, the Dukes and Barons of the northern Realm if they are in Northridge, and select officials of each division if the noble lords are not.   The Privy Council officially meets as a whole at least twice a year, in the spring and in the fall.  These meetings are determined and established by tradition and are (technically) mandatory for all members of the Council.  The High King can call for additional or supplimental gatherings of the Council as he sees fit, but this has not happened very often in the past.   The Privy Council has no official authority to counter or oppose the High King, and is ultimately an advisory council only.  It is a very influential political body, none the less.  Made up of the most powerful and richest members of the Kingdom's leading families and organizations, it is a singular and very effective means of ensuring that the High King is as informed and aware of the Kingdom's requirements and resources at all times.   The Privy Council officially gathers at the place of the High King's choosing, but it has an official and traditional meeting place at the Castle at Northridge known as the Council Hall.
