Xulakax Class Destroyer

Destroyer starship used by the Xalarin Council.
The Xulakax is fast, like all destroyers, and has a very powerful armament for its size. The Xulakax is designed to punch well above its weight class with a smaller number of larger weapons designed to engage large enemy ships. Specifically, it has plasma cannons which fire a highly dense, high energy plasma compound inspired by the Hyperion Federation and their quark-gluon Plasma Cannons. These do travel at low velocity making it less effective against fast targets though. They have been designed to fly for a long time before detonating though so the Xulakax can be used partly as an artillery destroyer as well as space station trajectories are highly predictable.

Power Generation

The primary powerplant is a small Nullification Generator. However, if that fails,
the ship can switch to its secondary powerplant, a highly efficient fusion reactor that fuses hydrogen atoms and repeats the process many times until they become oxygen atoms. The oxygen atoms are expelled from the ship. This is fed from a relatively small but high pressure hydrogen tank.

Propulsion

The ship is propelled by antimatter annihilation drives. The Xulakax class is capable of storing small amounts of antimatter which can be used to very easily change velocity without spending much weight on propellant.

Armor and defense

It is however very weakly armoured to save on mass. This gives the ship a lot of Δv and a high acceleration. It does have a decently strong shield and PDC network though.
