Transformation Bacteria

Symbiotic bacteria that is able to modify the body of the host very slowly at the host's will. While this alien bacteria will cause immune system reactions in most species, those of To'rer'ots ignore it completely as that race evolved with it. It can effect any race once their immune systems are artificially calibrated to not kill it.
This species of bacteria was the cause of a massively accelerated evolutionary process on Sulethis. It was engineered as a way for the to'rer'ot to become a spacefaring civilization before other larger factions could conquer them. This is part of the reason that the Sulethis Republic are so powerful in the Fortrais Galaxy Cluster. However, the rapid evolution has also caused the planet's ecosystem to be much more diverse than most others, and sometimes some very large creatures have evolved. Though these species can threaten and eat to'rer'ot, the latter has later made use of technology to become the dominant species regardless. Large weapons could keep predators away easily. 
The transformation bacteria is also responsible for the to'rer'ot and other species of Sulethis being very widely varying. Some of these species can have totally different body plans and yet be the same species from birth. The Transformation Bacteria can modify the DNA of any host very efficiently. Some other HF species, including Suons, can utilize modified versions of it. Transformation bacteria physiology is very versatile depending on the host, which was a required trait as it needs to inhabit very exotic species.

It is airborne. It effects every animal on Sulethis so the bnacteria can be contracted form anywhere within the atmosphere.
