Mekevony and Yitimapy

Where is Yitimapy?

Yitimapy is northwest of Danundseer , southwest of Tasumdynal and Xeladash, and directly west of Keltia-Aneya. It provides an alternative road between Xeladash and Danundseer for travelers averse to crossing Keltia-Aneya, though the crossing is a little slower (four days vs three for crossing Keltia-Aneya).

What kind of population and economy does Yitimapy have?

The majority population in Yitimapy is Vrash. There is nothing exceptional about the landscape that it would draw vrash to live there, but it is rumored that Mekevony let about a dozen couples skip The Price of Necromancy (as applies to reproduction) in order to encourage them to raise families in Yitimapy. There are still only a few people living in this forest, but they are productive and have attained some prosperity.

Yitimapy has a fairly conventional forestry economy, with exports of lumber, honey, furs, and meat. Low population densities across Theoma have helped hunting-dependent economies produce enough of a surplus to contribute to the food supply without breaking the herds.

There is an edge of superstition about the eastern wilderness in Yitimapy, as the transition between Yitimapy's safe wilderness and the terrible "get lost and die" dangers of the Keltia-Aneya wilderness is poorly marked. Scary totems are common across the eastern wilderness in Yitimapy as an attempt to save hunters and explorers who have wandered farther east than they realized. These are all supposed to be placed or hung so that they're on the west-facing sides of trees. If one faces the same direction as the totems, one will thus travel on a westward facing, and walk away from the certain death posed by the Keltia-Aneya forest.

There are several villages in Yitimapy. Although there are no quarries in Yitimapy, the villages use stone-brick or stone-and-mortar construction from construction materials imported from Xeladash and Taisatinrun and Inrakaveach. The permanency of stone construction is enhanced with fate charms hung like windchimes near the doors of many of the residences in the villages of Yitimapy.

What is Mekevony like?

A humble red vrash who lives in southern Yitimapy and stays close to his neighbors, that's what Mekevony is like. His incarnate avatar is almost indistinguishable from any of the other hunters in the theome. He mostly spurns geomancers, preferring only to empower locals, and only in small ways. He respects hard work and believes that the forest occupations are the true paradise occupations of dragonkind.
