Keltia-Aneya
Where is Keltia-Aneya?
Near the westernmost extension of the north-central forests of Tanjamund, Keltia-Aneya is a wholly forested theome without settlements of any kind. It is north of Danundseer and south of Tasumdynal and Xeladash. It curves around Taisatinrun and Inrakaveach, cupping that famed mountain theome's west and south borders.
How is Keltia-Aneya classified?
Although trade caravans cross it regularly and without mishap, Keltia-Aneya is classified as a Hostile theome. The vast forests of Keltia-Aneya are not merely trackless, but overlaid upon each other in a way that confuses the mind utterly. The few explorers to survive leaving the roads in the theome report that the forests of Keltia-Aneya appear to be infinitely large. It is not clear what kills most people who try to explore this theome, but it is believed to be that they die of hunger and thirst after running out of supplies in it.
Since the land god of Keltia-Aneya is unknown and has seemingly never been met by anyone in the history of Theoma, some geomancers insist that Keltia-Aneya 'should' be labeled a Missing theome. This view is buttressed by skepticism from people who have not visited the theome about its supposed unmappable nature. This is nevertheless a minority view as there is a known Fate beacon in Keltia-Aneya, which is considered to be proof that it does indeed have a land god.
What kind of population and economy does Keltia-Aneya have?
Ignoring explorers trying to plumb the depths of an impenetrable forest (who rarely bring back anything but unusual mushrooms), there is only one kind of population and economy in Keltia-Aneya: passing caravans. People who stick to the roads of Keltia-Aneya have little to fear, and so it remains a consistent albeit frightening part of the north-south corridor in central Tanjamund.
The roads in Keltia-Aneya exist by the will of the land god, and sometimes people get a little lost on them. It's always safe to be on the roads here, but caravans passing each other in opposite directions on 'the same road' will not necessarily meet each other at all. Random blockages can occur from fallen trees, and roads may sometimes simply not exist when checked on; exact measurements of distance in Keltia-Aneya don't seem to be possible. On average, the roads here are excellent and free of traffic, but the unknown local land god seems to meddle with caravans that try to cross without being laden by enough necromantic charms as to be invisible to them.
Who reigns over Keltia-Aneya?
The identity of the actual land god of Keltia-Aneya is unknown. If there are any explorers who have found the home of the land god of this land, they have kept their findings secret. What is clear is that the land god of Keltia-Aneya is not satisfied with a normal amount of forest, but has created a theome with too much of a taste of infinity to properly navigate.
What is the Fate Beacon maintained over Keltia-Aneya?
The fate beacon over Keltia-Aneya is benevolent, even though the theome is not. From Keltia-Aneya, a Forestry Beacon protects people (in theomes other than its own) when they are acting to protect and/or sustainably exploit forests.
This is one of the examples of a theome where the theome itself is disreputable, but the beacon is considered positively. Finding the heart of Keltia-Aneya to cast down the connection between oneself and the local Forestry Beacon would be an epic quest of grave danger, yet there is very little reason to bother. Why reject the influence of a Forestry Beacon?
