Born in Aragos, and only a child when her parents fled Aragonian lands to escape religious persecution, Lady De'Fyll spent most of her living life in the monastic temple-city of D'Kae, on South Drak Isle. When she was in her late 20's, Ash Mo'dan, the Zamberian Draco-Lich, activated the Shard of Disease and spawned a plague within the city, which spread with devastating speed. Like the other citizens of this land, she died... and was reawakened as a sentient undead. It is at this point, in the throes of horror of a city full of people awakening into dead, decaying bodies, Lady De'Fyll found her resolve. Managing to keep her sanity and composure, she quickly became the beacon of hope that her people desperately needed in such dark times. She traveled the land, personally reaching out to the confused, horrified, and traumatized populace to let them know that they were not alone and that this defilement of their beings' was not the end... it could instead be a new beginning.
After gathering as many of her people together to ensure their safety and inclusion in this new form of existence, she found herself now physically defending her people from the attacks of mindless undead pouring from the deserts to the north. The Lich who created the Defiled to be mindless servants was attempting to correct his mistake and wipe them from the face of NewGen. At the same time she was coordinating defenses from physical threats, she was also fighting a deeper, more intrinsic threat: the very nature of their undeath. Despite being sentient and retaining their souls, The Defiled bodies were still innervated by Negative Energy, the cosmic power of darkness and death. This objectively evil source of power was starting to twist the Defiled, influencing them to sink into depravity and madness.
Collecting the finest thinkers her people had to offer, she tasked them with finding a way to rid themselves of this necromantic energy. With 50 years, their efforts had born fruit... the very Spark of Life itself could replace the evil energy that created and powered them. But, as with all things, there was a trade-off. To give up the endless power of the Negative Energy Plane, and supplant it with Spark, would mean that they would have to continuously replenish their internal stores of this energy, lest their bodies 'wind-down' and become inert. Despite the risks, Lady De'Fyll ordered all of her people to undergo the process and to begin building the massive necro-technological infrastructure to power their civilization for eternity.
Thus, necrotech was born, and with it, the sovereignty of the Defiled people. All due to the unshakable resolve, willpower, and vision of Lady De'Fyll.
