The Dragon Hunters Guild
While not as politically powerful as the Mining Guild or as wide spread as the Adventurers Guild, the Dragon Hunters guild is the most martially powerful and most feared. Half Religion, Half Cult, and Half Militia (yes that's three halves) the Dragon Hunters guild is a group of zealots whos sole purpose is to seek out and hunt down Dragons (including anyone or anything associated with them) and bring them to justice for the destruction of the world.
Why are they so powerful? The Dragon Hunters guild is a private militia in the guise of a religion. As such it is allowed, hesitantly, in most city-states. One cannot dispute the religious quality of the organization when it is actively lead by an Archon after all. However, even those at the lowest ranks are seasoned fighters.
Why are they so feared? If you try to stand against them, they call for reinforcements. A village or town can do nothing against even a small group of hunters and footmen. The guild has a large enough membership that even fair sized city-states would need be concerned if the guild mobilized against it.
Structure
Neró the Rainmaker leads the Dragon Hunters Guild. His second is the Grand Inquisitor of which there is only one at any given time.
The next step down the organizational charts are the Inquisitors. There is one Inquisitor to each major city of the world. They are the rough equivalent of Guild Masters or other regional leaders. Smaller cities, towns, and villages do not have local guild representation. The Guild works entirely out of these larger Cities.
After the Inquisitors come Hunters and Seekers. These groups are on the same level but have different areas of responsibility. These two groups are further broken into the sub ranks Junior, Senior, and Veteran based on years of service and successful hunts.
Finally at the bottom of the organizational ladder are the rank and file footmen. Again these are broken into the sub ranks Recruit, Novice, Intermediate (normally just referred to as "Footmen" except under formal conditions) and Senior.
Culture
The Dragon Hunters Guild views Dragons, Dragonkin, and anyone associated with them as Oath breakers, Traitors, Murderers, etc. Their sole purpose to to seek out and eliminate any Dragons that remain in the world, and anything or anyone associated with them, regardless of the cost.
