Citadel of Skulls

"The Citadel of Skulls... aye, I've been there..." the old dwarf merchant shutters, " Twas a place of beauty before the shattering, or so they say. Gives me the gee-vies now. All decked out in pale greens and blues with a haunting darkness behind it. But if ya be looking for a relic, that be the place to go..."
The Citadel of Skulls, fortress of Tides Edge, bastion of The Dragon Hunters Guild and the abode of Neró in the physical plane; is a location of great power within the world of Errota.   Built before the shattering of the world it was a place of great beauty and light. It architecture was that of a coral reef, rife with passages and wonder. It overflowed with rivers running out in all directions and was the source of all of Errota's seas.   After The Shattering the sea's vanished, swallowed by the void. The citadel, broken and thrown down in the cataclysm, was rebuilt, now a place of darkness and vengeance. It is from here that the infamous Dragon Hunters Guild first issued forth into the world and to here that their treasures... and trophies... return.

Industry & Trade

The Citadel of Skulls acts as the seat of power for the Dragon Hunters Guild. The majority of its imports are in some way plunder from its enemies or homage from its... allies. Many items of power pass through the markets surrounding the Citadel and make up the primary export. Should one desire a rare or powerfully artifact, if it can be found in the world, the markets around the Citadel of Skulls is a good place to start...

Geography

The Citadel of Skulls is located on one of the elementally locked islands in the Twilight Zone. It houses the eternal wellspring (a breach between the physical world and the water plane). Surrounding the Citadel and its supporting city (Tides Edge) is one of the largest remaining bodies of water in errota. The source of this water flows directly out of the water plane via the eternal wellspring.

Climate

Being in the twilight zone this location sees minimal light and is often overshadowed by other isles floating above it. Do to its ties to the water plane, it receives a higher than normally amount of rain. Because of its proximity to the Void, it tends to be cooler, or even chilly most of the year.
