Background
The main author is considered Professor Ludwig Chano, however many other people (professors, research assistants, students, starship crew, etc) have contributed and are painstakingly documented for their contributions.
History
First Landing is the supposed place where the first colonists arrived in the Welcome to the Virgo Cluster. Purportedly consisting of a paved starship port along with a memorial marker, the location has been lost in time and this document is the result of Professor Ludwig Chano's attempt to find it.
Public Reaction
Public reaction is pretty neutral. Academics follow the research, but there are other paths and even the theory of colonization is not a forgone conclusion and subject to debate. However, some of the research leads to other discoveries and advancements in astrogation and provides a good reason for the government to continue funding Professor Ludwig Chano's research.
