Welcome to the Virgo Cluster
The Virgo Cluster is a microcosm of the universe. While not necessarily self-contained, it provides a rich area for living and exploring a relatively known, although sometimes unsafe, part of the galaxy. One may hear news of events from other Empires and it's surrounding polities, along with other areas not so well endowed with life and communications. But, the cluster is it's own Empire and has it's own problems, and those who live there want to continue to do so, while, in general, attempting to make their, and their decendants, lives better.
The cluster is primarily populated by humans, although there are some examples of other species who may be found among the billions inhabiting the area. Some are still trying to find where we came from (see
Wormhole to Gaia ), while others (
73rd Fleet ) maintain the peace, while others trade, go to school, eat, drink, and attempt to be merry. Some are, some.....not so much.
Some will live their lives in or near the place they were born. Others will travel throughout their homeworld or star system. The
Traveller will make their way from star system to star system, making a living by whatever means available, legal, illegal, moral, immoral, peacefully, angrily, alone, or with friends. Most will find their way by a combination or even inventing some new and unconventional way to survive in the cluster.
Survival doesn't have to be hard, but easy usually means not travelling.
Travellers, however, will take a harder route but have a chance of discovering their origin or making some other more visible contribution to society. None have been truly successful yet.
