The Dominion

Enter The Dominion. No other Faction is as powerful, as influential, or as protective as us. No, you don’t get free money. Your problems aren’t solved for you. Technological advancement isn’t our highest concern. You’re not attacked for having opinions. We focus on the individual. You own what you own, and as long as you do your part, we do ours.

Structure

The Dominion is the (second) largest acting Faction within the area of 'civilized' space. Lead by a 13 position council of Admirals, these people are the end-all-be-all of power in the Dominion, controlling each 13 regions of their own space, and their own fleets. Governmentally, the bureaucratic side of the Dominion and the Militaristic side never collaborate. The Military has complete control if they wish, but do not have the time nor do they want to exude the effort to do so. Thus, the Dominion is ruled by a daisy chain of bureaucrats which have the job of controlling the lives of literally Quintillions of people on their own. Due to this, the amount of required work to even make the faction run leaves microscopic cracks in every possible part of the ruling system to allow anyone to do pretty much whatever they want if they try hard enough. This leaves a near crippled-like non-direction that the faction’s people have, the entire singular effort that the government tries to drive home is the effort of war, using the caricatures of the Admirals to their extreme advantage. The worst part is that it works.

Public Agenda

The Dominion, dead set on destroying anything they perceive as a threat, is very aggressive. Their thirst for immense resources causes their population reach to span nearly hundreds of thousands of planets.

Assets

Featuring a fleet of an uncountable number of ships and more population than every other faction combined, it's likely The Dominion won the "Military Power" Victory.

Demography and Population

The Dominion keeps a band of a few ten thousands systems they refer to as “The High Belt,” which is filled with Encumunopolisis; every planet, every star system, filled the brim. This area of space is under mostly control of the bureaucracy, leading to nearly 200 Quintillion people under shaky rule at best. This leads to widespread civilian unrest, barely contained by the propaganda of entertainment and war.

Territories

Occupying a majority of the galactic core, The Dominion has some of the most dense space in the galaxy to colonize. See, The Dominion uses a -/200% margin for their colonized worlds, which is a mathematical way to say “We don’t really give a shit.” This causes colonized worlds to be, on average, 100% certifiably “not fun” to live on. These worlds, while habitable, usually have extreme problems in temperature, day cycle, weather, or its previous inhabitants.

Military

The Dominion has 13 "Coteries," though these aren't truly Coteries. Instead, these are 13 areas of space that the Admirals consider their “Domain.” The development of these areas of directly influenced by the Admirals in both of how they groom the population for soldiers, and how they exert their power over the areas of space.   -Fasco’s Space: Lead by Admiral Fasco, a hateful man of pained words that hates “Xenos” with what little remains of his failing body. His spaces lies close to the edge of Paragon Horizons, as he vows to annihilate them. His area is lead in the direction of extreme racism and propaganda. All of his Generals are Human. Fasco's fleets are a large mix of smaller crafts with larger supporting crafts.   -Evolution’s Space: Lead by Admiral “Evolution,” this undefinable creature used to be a 'normal' species, but is now twisted and malformed, promoting the assimilation and evolving of technology and genetic monstrosities. This area is lead in the direction of scientific advancement in the genetic field, breeding Amalgamorphs. Evolution's fleets seek to simply decimate all populations with Amalgamorphs, either through boarding, or planetary drops - there are never survivors.   -Runehigh Space: Lead by Admiral Runehigh, this large hearty man sports grey hair and long beard, harboring a loud boisterous laugh. Laughing jollily at his enemy’s defeats, Runehigh’s morale is highest in all of Dominion space. His area of space commonly sells products based off his immense personality, and are generally the happiest people in the Faction. Runehigh's fleets are dedicated to large slow ships, covered in spinal weapons.   -Azn'katar Space: Lead by Kolari named Azn'katar, she is a woman of passion and fighting, this area values honor and pride above all else. Seeing herself as one of the most powerful people in the Galaxy, she is seen by her subordinates as such, owing their allegiance to her from respect and honor. She sometimes purposefully allows her enemies to pull back and regroup in larger numbers to have a more even fight with her extremely powerful fleet and troops. A majority of her fleets are designated boarding ships and helldive troopers.   -Snake Eyes’ Area: Snake Eyes is a spy that very quickly rose from simply gathering espionage to being capable of infiltrating almost anything, anywhere. Constantly changing their appearance, species, genetics, and optical nerve, Snake Eye's "true" appearance has been lost. Snake Eye's "fleet" if you could call it that, is mostly just an information web of spies reporting to other spies, with ships merely being used to move spies without detection via stealth drives.   -Flay's Domain: Flay, a Ti-Zruh who's purposes is, explicitly, as stated by Flay themselves, to cause as much undue suffering as possible within war. Chemical weaponry, biological weapons, searing radiation, intentional collateral damage, torture of prisoners, capturing of civilians and slave labor, destroying surrendering ships, and even destroying evacuating or rescue ships. Why do they do it? A true and pure hatred of life itself.   -Iridescent's Space: Iridescent is a nearly translucent Lekopha with an incredible mind suited for year-long plans and a charisma more than capable of forcing underlings to be cogs in the machine, with some roles in plans being borderline suicidal yet soldiers carrying out their roles near perfectly. His fleets are complex mixes of all ship types, composed of dozens of singular highly specialized ships to fit roles extremely specific to their function.   -Black Skull Space: Black Skull; a Rakkarian Ferra Aranya who is widely regarded as the single best Cybernetisict in the entire faction. Covered in cybernetics and a dreadnought power rig, every soldier under her sports high-tech weaponry, gadgets, and armor, some even personally made by her. Transhumanist at heart, she offers higher rank among her command if you allow her to install her newest project on you.   -Ghost’s Space: Run by the Man in the Mask, Ghost is a man who wears a phantom suit and mask 100% of the time, to the point of his IDs having his mask as his main identifier. Master of stealth and leader of the Cloaked fleet, he is an expert in guerrilla warfare, and one would be wise to expect invisible guards everywhere within his portion of the Dominion.   -Rhina’s Space: Lead by Admiral Rhina, this woman is a 10 on the Psionic Index, and scientifically considered the most powerful Psion known to this Galaxy. She is one of the smartest, powerful, and dangerous people in the entire Faction, and told to have Precognition, arriving slightly before her enemies, and crushing them with an Ambush.   -Cooky Quazar's Area: A towering Cythian with a marginal-at-best understanding of biological needs and bodies. Frequently intervenes into the bureaucratic side of it's space and forces unusual changes onto the populace and commerce that are highly unusual, and usually not dangerous, such as banning lettuce for a few days. Cooky's fleets are rather small in comparison to the other Admiral's, staffing exclusively species that do not need to breathe aboard them to minimize life support required.   -Galaxon Domain: A sentient droid leads this area, controlling billions of bodies simultaneously. They program most security networks in the entire Faction, and run their entire area of space with extremely optimized AI. One of the hardest areas to trick the system in, and carries a fleet of extremely expensive Autonomous AI ships.   -STEM's Domain: STEM, or "Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics," is a Va'cit that has designated himself has Head of all the aforementioned fields. He dedicates his entire area to extremely strenuous scientific research and development. He claims to have figured out what Eden's stealth tech is and how it works, though refuses to show any proof of this. His fleets are almost entirely self supplying to a degree of near-paranoia, with over half the ships being dedicated to resource refining and storage.

Technological Level

Using giant buildings called “Grav Rippers,” The Dominion can rip apart planets or moons that are completely uninhabitable and not useful. This sends waves of extremely powerful gravitational waves through the planets, ripping its very form into shards, making it literally explode. This is done constantly, and is a main reason why the Dominion is able to continually outclass their other more moral or scientific neighbors.

Infrastructure

The entire Dominion is covered in a lattice of planetary siege cannons named “Defliers.” These cannons are capable of delivering bombardments from light years away through usage of Quantum Shift drives throughout all the projectiles. If you attack the Dominion, they really want to use these, so beware.   Additionally, The Dominion has a few hundred Megastructures, most of which are Dyson Spheres, Planetary Stripminners, Matter Reinstatizers, and other resource extraction sites. These are named by their structure’s name and then the name of the star they’re around. The resources of these are constantly being moved around, a group of a dozen movable Hypergates being transported as the ever changing flow of war requires resources in different places.

-Free speech does not exist. The government can and will arrest you if you speak poorly of it. At best you’re sent into the military to be a soldier, or you’re banned from ever entering the faction again, kicked out onto some rimworld. At worst, you’re killed on the spot for being a little too aggressive.   -The Black Market operates legally in the Dominion (though not officially), as long as it is taxed.   -You have a right to own anything you’re capable of obtaining. It doesn’t matter where if came from, if you have legal proof you own it, it’s yours.   -Taxes are high, but under no circumstances can the government take your property as long as you’re paying for it. You basically own a tiny faction inside the Dominion that operates inside your property.   -Traps on your own property are legal, and in some places, encouraged.   -Every system is covered in a small grid of Warp Resonance Disruptors, stopping all FTL in their reach. This causes all travel to be within predefined areas from from within deep space. This is mainly meant to stop attacks at random, and, whether or not you think it works, it really disrupts the flow of commerce.   -Living in the Dominion means one of two things: You will work for the government for 2 years. Beit military, manufacturing, transport, etc. Until this work is completed, you cannot leave. Legal work age is biologically 13, though chronological arguments can be made for special races.   -Education is not mandatory, at all, but it is free, though, because of this, you must be a citizen of The Dominion to study there, if you are not, you pay a citizen’s average wage to study (About 19k credits a year).   -Dead Man’s Debt: The debt of people related to you falls to their closest related creature, beit their siblings, Significant Other, or next of blood. Debt does not disappear. If a creature has no one for the debt to go to, their possessions are taken after death, regardless of their will. If they do not have enough to pay back their debt, the money is pushed onto the taxpayers.   -One Warning: You can give one warning to anyone intruding on your property. The warning must include the phrase “This is One warning.” or “This is your/my One warning.” and then the request. If the creature does not abide by this warning, force is authorized. If the property is your domain or owned land, the force can be lethal. If the property is your personal space (Within 1, possibly 2 feet of you) force cannot be intentionally lethal. This law does not work if the creature cannot carry out the request reasonably, such as leaving private property in which they are stuck, or in a short time frame. Despite how easy this law would be to abuse, The Dominion is very particular about its use, and if it was lawful or not.
