Westward Settlement in The Unknown Realms | World Anvil

Westward

Westward is a small neighborhood located on the northwestern shore of where the river meets the ocean in Squall's End. The area is known for its large warehouses that dominate the landscape, giving the neighborhood a rugged and industrial feel. The warehouses are made of sturdy stone and metal, with large loading docks and cranes visible from the street. The neighborhood is situated where a wide, slow-moving river meets the ocean, creating a unique and dynamic environment. The salty sea air mixes with the smell of oil and grease from the warehouses, creating a distinctive scent that permeates the entire neighborhood.

The streets are wide and lined with cobblestones, perfect for the heavy carts and wagons that transport goods in and out of the warehouses. The buildings are imposing, casting long shadows over the streets even in the brightest of days. The residents of Westward are a hardy and practical bunch, consisting mostly of workers who are employed in the warehouses or the shipping industry that operates along the river and ocean. Despite the rough and tumble atmosphere, the people of Westward are a tight-knit community, always willing to lend a hand to their neighbors.   At night, the warehouses are still alive with the sounds of creaking carts and the muffled voices of workers unloading goods. The glow of lanterns and the flicker of torches provide a warm and comforting light in the otherwise dark and quiet neighborhood. Despite its rough exterior, Westward is a neighborhood filled with a sense of purpose and a proud tradition of hard work and determination.
