Golath

It is said that in there is a darkness in the heart of every warrior, that in the heat of battle there is the desire to kill. This darkness doesn't care for victory, it doesn't care for the lives of allies, but only the spilling of blood. This is Golath, the god of rage and bloodlust.

Divine Domains

The powers granted by Golath tend to be both very simple and very destructive. The vast majority of Golathan priests recieve the powers of the war domain. Some few others do have the power of the tempest domain to bring to bear on their enemies, however.

Divine Realm

As a god of chaos and violence, Golath's realm Kastagore is found in the Endless Layers of the Abyss. This realm encompasses the entire layer, and the god is very protective of his domain. The planar faction known as the Fraternity of Order has numbered this layer as 383.   This is a very desolate place that is, like its master, scarred with endless battle. Blood falls like rain here, and corpses are arranged in mockeries of trees. Terrible creatures walk the land, brutally attacking anything that crosses their path. These are strange, twisted creatures and are the petitioners of Golath's servants.   There is practically no non-hostile life here, so there are no towns or cities. Even Golath, himself has no palace or castle to call his own. The god walks his realm looking for enemies to slay. There are very few reasons for planar travelers to ever come here, and most who do never leave alive.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The unholy symbol of Golath is very simple in design. It resembles a jagged, bleeding wound. Naturally, it doesn't symbolize anything other than violence. Golathan priests sometimes wound themselves in a manner resembling the unholy symbol, creating a sacred scar.

Tenets of Faith

The Golathan faith is very disorganized, even compared to that of other gods of chaos, such as Eariden or Nightshade. These worshippers are small cults that tend to have their own organizations and ways of life. There is only one thing such cults have in common: violence.   Golathans are dedicated to bringing death, but unlike the followers of Vesh, they are far more direct in their methods. They are determined to bring death through battle. They will fight anyone, mostly regardless of their opponents' ability to fight back. As such, Golath is the patron of raiders and berserkers.   The followers of Golath are particularly rivals of the followers of Selai. This is in part due to Selai's abandonment of the divinity that would become Golath, and in part due to the conflicting nature of their faiths. Golathans particularly enjoy fighting Selaians, and the Brotherhood of the Sundered Shield has lost many members to the worshippers of Golath.

Physical Description

Body Features

Golath manifests as more beast than man. His body resembles a mound of muscle and bears the scars of countless battles. His skin is a deep red and he has long, black hair. His eyes are a dead black, and seem to be endless wells of rage.   Much like the far more benevolent Dilesseye, he too never wears clothing, preferring instead to cover himself in nothing but the blood of his enemies. He uses no weapons, as he has wicked claws and teeth capable of rendering his foes' flesh from their bones.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Golath is the youngest of all the Twin Worlds Pantheon. He was once an aspect of the goddess Selai, who was at that time the goddess of war. Her nature was neutral, as she represented all aspects of war, from strategy, to valor, to the simple shedding of the enemy's blood.   All of this changed when Selai fell in love with a mortal warrior. She could no longer see mortal life as meaningless, and strove to embody a more positive form. Such a change was vast even driving the goddess of death Lesav mad and driving her attempt to murder the Twin Worlds.   After the Great Divine burned Lesav and cast her into Carceri and appointed Ilovar into the role of god of death, it was time for Selai to remake herself. She peeled away the parts of her divinity she no longer wanted and cast them into the deepest depths of the Abyss.   Still, these cast-off pieces of divinity were not simply gone. They had a life of their own, and they hated everything in existence and raged against their abandonment. They came together into their own god. Golath was born.
