Session 03: The Gunthrs House Report

General Summary

Grimnas & Fleec are at the Gunthrs house, and get to examine the scene of the the theft of the ring. They see that the ring wasn't stored under & key and no lock on the door. They questioned maid, the cook and the handyman. They found that all three didn't know what was going on but they picked up that Sigihold was kind of off.
They proceeded to question Sigihold, but he wasn't there. Turns out he was hiding in the cellar. They found a small chest with the cult icon on top, filled with loose paper sheaves, a ball of twine, a quill, and an inkpot behind a locked down grating to the sewers . Further inspection they found Sigihold hiding behind more boxes in front of a small shrine of the star god, mumbling in an unknown language and mentioning Hastur. His cult regalia was lying beside it, with a single point of the star rising from the top of it. They wrestled him to the ground and knocked him out. When he regained consciousness, after Fleec used some healing balm, he was tied and they questioned him. He explained he was the local cult leader, and they were only beginning. He had used the chest contents to pass messages to the other now dead cult members. They were starting out small and murdering local officials in the process so they could build up more quickly in the city. They had came in as part of Frankia taking over Austria earlier that year. Messages were received from the cult's inner circle, the Founders, and the messages then destroyed. They were trying to grow in number and had no further information on the identities of the Founders, but pointed to them potentially being in Parisius, and messages were secreted in transports to and from the that city. The messages were picked up or slipped in these transports unbeknownst to the people, and the next was due to be sent at the next full moon. They were told cryptically they will eventually meet the King In Yellow.
After this they hand him over to Hundi Gunthr and his guard to take to the Jarl for judgement, and possibly even a count being involved in the judgement.
