Admiral Norman Lemming
Norman Lemming grew up on a space station in the Tantalusian System, where his mother moved after she got a dishonorable discharge from the Trident Coalition Space Fleet and married an alcoholic and abusive dockworker. Norman’s biological father was aboard TCSV Ikaros, the Coalition Space Fleet Academy training ship when it flew too close to the Sisyphean star and was destroyed with all hands.
At age twelve Norman was taken hostage in a cargo hold on the station by two criminal aliens who’d just stolen the first portable space folder and used it to empty the station bank vault. Space Marshal Blast Bolton was visiting the station and helped negotiate Norman’s release. When it was over Norman joined the Space Fleet Youth Activation Program and the year he turned sixteen he enrolled in the Coalition Space Fleet Academy and became an officer, and stayed in touch with Bolton as much as possible.
Norman Lemming negotiated with the manufacturing company on Lacedaemon that they would only sell the portable space folders to the Coalition, keeping it a restricted technology.
Lemming is sometimes accused of cutting corners and of being a bit of a bully. He’s had a long feud with Herbert Kibblewhite and there have been suggestions that he made it so that Herbert got busted down to Master Chief Petty Officer, from being an Ensign and halted Herbert’s career in the Fleet over a petty squabble.
