Ambush on Svartalfheim

As Frigga refused to take immediate action to protect Jane Foster, Thor conspired with Loki and his friends to spirit Foster to Svartalfheim in order to lure out Malekith the Accursed.

Although Malekith did remove the Aether from Foster as they had planned, it proved to be indestructible, and Malekith was able to take the Aether's power for himself.

Malekith ordered Algrim the Kursed to kill Thor. Loki was able to kill Algrim, but was apparently killed himself in the fight. Unbeknownst to Thor, this was an illusion created by Loki in order to allow him to escape Asgardian custody.
