Second Dark Elf Conflict

The conflict between Asgard and the Dark Elves in the 21st century.

The conflict was triggered by the discovery of the Aether by Jane Foster, shortly before a Convergence. 

The surviving Dark Elves, lead by Malekith the Accursed, attacked Valaskjalf to retrieve the Aether. They failed, but later suceeded in extracting the Aether from Foster during the Ambush on Svartalfheim. 

Malekith sought to use the Convergence and the power of the Aether to destroy the suns of the Nine Realms. He was defeated by Thor and Foster during the Battle of Greenwich
