The Great Temple of Naosuli - Competition

The main temple of Naosuli, the demon Deity of Death, located in Naovojo.   There are no records of who built the temple that would later become the Great Temple of Naosuli - it was a ruin rediscovered by a group of settlers that had failed to establish themselves at the base of Gavonar.   It was clear the building was meant to be a temple to Naosuli, as it already had reliefs of the death deity carved into its walls. The settlers had seen their fair share of death, and chose to restore and remain at the temple.   The Mausoleum of Kings, as it later came to be known, was added by the settlers that rediscovered the original temple. Having grown tired of fire, they sought another way to inter their dead without drawing the attention of the dangerous plants and animals of their realm. They built a house for their dead behind the temple, and covered them in the white clay native to the region. Over time, they continued to expand the halls and create more and more elaborate likenesses and sculptures.   The Hall of Kings was added just prior to the death of Demon King Lavven, the first Ascended King. The Grand Priestis of the time had asked Lavven's permission to inter him, so later generations might look upon the man that united the realm. Lavven had agreed - and since then, every Ascended King and their families have been interred as well.   One of the standout features of the temple is that rather than the bubble-like architure of large buildings found through the rest of the realm, the temple features long winding tube-like buildings. This is meant to resemble the Skyriver Lighteels that transport the souls of the dead to the Ghost Realm.   Template article: The Great Temple of Naosuli.
