The native denizens of the Fae Realm.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Fae are bipedal with digitigrade legs and paw-like hands. They have sharp teeth, long pointed ears, prehensile tails, feathery antennae, and moth-like wings. Their eyes are solid colors.

Genetics and Reproduction

Fae reproduce through magical egg-laying, and incubation usually lasts about one year. 
Besides other fae, they can reproduce with elves and dragons.

Ecology and Habitats

Fae thrive in magicka-rich environments, though they will not perish without it. They will, however, weaken considerably without a regular supply of magicka to consume.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Omnivorous - main source of food is magical tree resin from orchards made for that purpose. Fae are particularly fond of sweet foods, often putting honey on other foods.

Civilization and Culture

History

Unlike elves, the Quadrants of the Fae Realm don't often interact - they also don't have kingdoms, but rather Clan Territories. Fae tend to live on their own once they come of age, but not so far from others as to be isolated. Common areas known as Eclipses can be found in the center of most territories and where territory borders meet, usually used for impromptu social gatherings and parties. Fae are fond of social events, but also value independence, so do not pressure each other to join in.
Living in a world where the times of day are eternal depending on your location, the strong connection fae have to magicka make them creatures of habit as well - which is a large part of the reason most fae do not explore beyond their homes. However, when a fae experiences a significant change in their life, they often crave more - such is the evershifting nature of magic set in motion.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Fae often form relationships with Elf and Dragon partners, due to the close relationships of their Realms. These are not seen as particularly special for being commonplace. 
Fae see relationships with any other species as novel and intriguing.
