Dragon
The native denizens of the Dragonic Realm.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Dragons are shapeshifters with two forms - their Large Form and Small Form.
A dragon's large form is that of a quadrupedal lizard with large, leathery wings, horns on their heads that run down the length of their body, and a mane of hair down the length of their bodies and tails. They have cow-like ears.
A dragon's small form has a humanoid torso with a quadrupedal reptilian lower body. It retains its wings, and the humanoid torso has leathery skin.
Genetics and Reproduction
Dragons reproduce through magical egg-laying, and incubation usually lasts about one year.
Besides other dragons, they can reproduce with elves and fae.

Civilization and Culture
History
Dragons tend to live in small groups of three to four in the same age group, and so have not formed full societies and kingdoms. However, there are ten dragon kings - determined every one hundred fifty years through a series of contests. In this way, the Ten Dragon Kings are considered the strongest, fastest, and wisest of all others. For dragons admire strength in all its various forms.
Unlike elves and fae, dragons are unable to actively guide magic - they are, perhaps more than the other two, beings composed of magic instead. Their shape-shifting ability, capacity for flight, and magical breath are all subconscious uses of great magic.
