Shiarra's Market is the largest market square in Elturel and supposedly the spot where the first High Rider of Elturel, Shiarra, was sworn the loyalty of her followers, becoming the first High Rider of Elturel

Architecture

Shiarra’s Market is lined by marble-faced banks and austere slate-gray trading houses and is crammed with busy market stalls. Below the Market, there’s access to subterranean storehouses that are part of the Maze.

History

During the Damnation of Elturel, Shiarra's Market was taken over by the vampire Klav Ikaia and his dhampir followers, who turned it into a refuge from the Hell Knights, devils, and demons stalking the streets. The market continued to serve as one of the primary defensive locations in the city and was attacked by swarms of demons during the Battle of Elturel.
A memorial to the market's role in the defense of Elturel was established following Elturel's salvation in 1498. However, the memorial is controversial due to its explicit mention of the controversial Klav Ikaia.
