Ison
Ison is small port and trading post made entirely out of ice in the upper reaches of the watery Columns of Pillarspace. It is sparsely inhabited and serves as one of many points where the aquatic residents of the Columns can conduct trade with the mostly air-breathing travelers of Wildspace.
Government
No formal government exists in Ison as it has no permenant residents.
In 1490, control of the port was managed by the naiad Transient-in-Spring.
History
Originally nameless, Ison was once known as Ice Town by those that visited it for its uniquely frozen nature. Overtime, that name became more and more truncated, until Ison was its universally recognized name.
On the 4th of Tarsakh, 1490, the crew of the Era Dawn docked at Ison to collect three moularcampi for transport and sale at the Rock of Bral, which was then located in nearby Mirrorspace. While captain Areti Hex negotiated the deal, the crew's navigator Satiah discovered a plot by the angulotl dockworkers to kidnap members of the crew and sell them. This information encouraged the crew to rapidly finish their business and leave with the moularcampi, clashing briefly with a angulotl Damselfly before escaping the Columns.
Points of interest
Ison is very small, owing to its purpose as a trading post and not a settlement. As such, it only contains space for 6 spelljammers to dock in water (three of which have wide enough docks to allow for a ground landing). Other locations of interest include:
- warehouses to hold exports and imports;
- the Ice Bar, a place for spelljamming crews to grab drinks and food while docked;
- a general goods and supply store, managed by a rotating staff of dohwar
