Berwyn

The Berwyn region beyond Ravndal is an uncharted arctic no-man's-land. Sparse communities of hearty Berwyc humans exist along the western shoreline, subsiding on cold water fishing. It is rumored that a settlement of mechanical men exists somewhere in the far reaches of Berwyn. In east Berwyn sits Nidavellir, the prime Dwarf fortress citystate. Built within the tallest frozen peak. The Dwarven capital of the world. All clans of Dwarves are represented in Nidavellir. Hreidmar sits upon a frozen throne as high king of Dwarvenkind. Nidavellir can only be reached by sea- and by sailing up the Iceknife River. East of Nidavellir is the ruins of an ancient dwarven city. Once known for its great riches, it is now inhabited by a single white dragon, Fafnir. No mortal has ever dared seek Fafnir’s frozen hoard. Nidavellir’s crest is a round shield bearing a runic compass.
