The Shatterlands
Long ago the land was one, and the people were one as well. Over one thousand years ago, something triggered what is known is "The Shattering", during which the world split and shifted, sending the land and its people into chaos and conflict. The Guardian Genies used their power to balance the out-of-balance forces which tore the planet apart, halting the shattering.
As time passed the Shatterlands grew unbalanced once again, primarily because the Dark Goddess, Shar, went after the guardian genies in an attempt to destroy the world. A group of heroes came forward, earning themselves the title of "The Crimson 8". These heroes put a stop to Shar and the Second Shattering, bringing balance again to the world.
