Gargoyles are an artificial created species created magic and alchemy for the purpose of protecting settlements from supernatural creatures that would do harm to them. This was a time when fight such creatures was difficult since very few people around to do so. They would guard places with their lives and would be on the hunt when danger was near. But as time passed and the world changed, so did the perception of Humans saw them more as the monsters that they hunted. Many were forced to flee from destruction as their bodies would be destroyed in the day as they slept. Making many of them to flee the places they once sworn to protect and search for places that have few living things near them such as ruins or cemeteries to continue what they were created to due and hunt the creatures that hunt Humans.

Gargoyles are forced to remain in stone like hibernation during the day and only awaken during the night. Theses grants then the ability to heal wounds much faster when they are in this state and allows them to live for centuries because of it. They can combat the most difficult of Dark Supernatural creatures as their stone like bodies are infused with magic to grants them the power to do so. There bodies are incredibly strong as well with the most weapons repealing off of them.

Gargoyles often live in clan like structures were the strongest gargoyles rule over the other of their group which can number around ten to fifty at a time. Often treat each other as family and will work together to ensure that they survive and do there duties.
