Corpse Species in The Sagas | World Anvil

Corpse

the dead walk again

The corpse is the most common type of undead in the world with necromancers and liches often using as foot soldiers to do as they command. Though not as much as a threat in small numbers, they are highly dangerous when grouped in hordes. With only one of a few ways to kill them, such as destroying the brain and burning. killing them any most other weapons will not eve slow them down. But the true danger of them is that they are disease careers since they decay over time and gain them over time. They are often used poison water supplies or spread infection over populations. Which is why burning the bodies after they are killed again is often done. Which is why most cultures tend to burn their dead so this does not happen. Those who do bury them often take measures to make sure they do not come back, such as holy ritual, symbols or they way they bury them. As long as they stay dead no will have any problems to deal with then
