The Independent Peoples' Democratic Union of the Grand Republic of Nurn

The Independent Peoples' Democratic Union of the Grand Republic of Nurn or the IPDUGRN is the leading governmental force of Nurn. Nurn describes themselves as a democracy, however it operates more like an oligarchy. While anyone is able to vote on who represents the people among Nurnite leadership, the locations in which you can submit these votes are only in the wealthy sectors of the World's major settlements. The only settlement in which voting booths can be found anywhere within the location is the Barren Stand Regiment.
IPDUGRN has six different positions (listed below) that Nurnites can run for, and there is no pre-requisite in place to run for a leadership position besides paying a sum equivalent to 25,000 system credits. This money goes directly to the Nurnite who currently holds the position. Nurnites are able to run for these positions once every six years (one term) or when if the current holder of the position either steps down or passes away. Those in positions of leadership do not have a limited number of terms that they can hold the position for, meaning they will remain in the position unless they voluntarily step down, beaten in a following election, or until they die.

Each secretary of the cabinet has total control over the sectors that their positions are named after. Alternatively, the President and Vice President are able to take control of any department or order the secretaries to carry out their will. In instances wherein the President's and Vice President's wills contradict one another, the President's wishes take priority.
