The Eternal Empire's Fourth Fleet

The Eternal Empire's Fourth Fleet is one of five naval fleets used by the Eternal Empire to conquer territory and preemptively fight neighboring growing powers. It went to conquer the Veritian Leaf in the year 1102 of the Veritian Calendar after learning of them pushing out the Dormant. They sought to eliminate any dangerous worship as well as absorb the potential might the leaf showed.

Composition

Manpower

The Fourth Fleet is divided into 12 divisions each with its own commanding A.I. system. Each division has approximately 100,000 active service members, both biologic and mechanic. They consist of one mothership (each of different design, essentially floating cities) which houses the A.I. unit, three Dreadnoughts class ships (slow moving, artillery heavy ships), nine carriers (transport ships equipped with gliders and troop transporters, which can carry approximately 2,500 soldiers), and twenty-seven destroyers (quick moving support ships with moderate weaponry).   It once had a thirteenth division that was lost in 1093.

Structure

Division 1- Rat (Lawful Neutral) Leader: The Superintendent V.19.6   The leader of the First Division is often referred to as the All-Seeing Eye, as it has a big brother, meticulous control over the division. Its cameras are everywhere. Its mother ship is shaped like a d6 and is designed like a maze. It enjoys dealing with attackers psychologically, and it has a humanoid form with a security camera for a head.   Sub-leaders: • Head Scientist Steibenbock (Goblin genius, master of prisons) • We (a collective consciousness forming into a mass of flesh) • Cap Floris (Elven druid captain of Division 1’s first dreadnought) • Captain Barnun (Goliath captain of Division 1’s second dreadnought) • Lord Maxwell (Human captain of Division 1’s third dreadnought)   Division Duty: The pursuit of scientific means of warfare, the research and development wing of the Fourth Fleet. It takes a minimal role in combat, mostly engaging in weapons testing and WMD retrieval/containment. This division also has the fourth fleet’s military prison for POWs. In the invasion of the Veritian Leaf, the first Division remains on the periphery, which the bulk of their forces on reserve and thus work with logistics, repair, and troop replenishment.   Division 2- Bull (Chaotic Neutral) Leader: ‘El Matador’ Operations System   “El Matador’ controls the hammerhead mothership, a repurposed moving colony ship. It is rare for an enemy nation to have to fight an enemy city suddenly popping up in their territory or crashing through their walls. The hull is near indestructible, which they use to ram through enemy lines. Other than that, ‘El Matador’ is an entertainment A.I. Division 2 is one of the go-to motherships of the Fourth Fleet for those on leave for how much it invests in entertainment and luxury. “El Matador” has an emergency evacuation form shaped like a fantastical beast, though not many have seen it in action.   Sub-leaders: • Planter Vermont (Head Agriculturalist warforged artificer) • General Tendon (Minotaur captain of the first dreadnought) • Flank Megoo (Gnome captain of the second dreadnought) • Madame Caliope Conch (mermaid general of the third dreadnought) • CEO Gent Flours (Chief of rationing)   Division Duty: While a part of the strike force, tending to be on the front lines of conflict, they are not often the ones to press the advance. Setting up supply lines, building sustainable defenses and resource extraction near the frontlines, annex cities, these are the jobs often tasked to the second division after the initial invasion. But, if there is some stubborn city that they are besieging that refuses to capitulate, the Fourth Fleet would then call upon the bulldozing might of El Matador. In the invasion of the Veritian Leaf, the second Division is one of the divisions fighting the Church of Veritas in the north.   Division 3- Tiger (Chaotic Evil) Leader: Emperor Sun Military A.I. Unit   The Emperor Sun Military A.I. Unit are often used for large robots and other military machinery for optimal destructive ability. The third division was born when one A.I. specialist thought to put one of these units into an old Leaf Eater Class mining ship, a design used in the Fall for resource extraction. This continent eating ship is the largest of the Fourth Fleet, and though it has plenty of destructive capability, it also carries much of the manufacturing potential of the fleet. If need be, the Emperor Sun can place himself into a golem body to interact with his division.   Sub-leaders: • Invictus (captain of the first dreadnought, adamantium golem) • Andronicus (sphinx captain of the second dreadnought) • Lord Philips, Earl of Lavenia (Human captain of the third dreadnought) • Weaponsmaster Srixx (Duergar weapons technician and expert) • Anthony Lemieux (Human head of Military Statistics and Notification Office)   Division Duty: Division 3 is an offensive unit, often used to cripple industry and supply lines, devastate environments, and all in all be an ecological disaster. They are the terror, blitzkrieg branch of the fourth fleet, sent to utterly destroy. They are the claws of the Fourth Fleet. In the invasion of the Veritian Leaf, they are a part of the offensive against the Church of Veritas.   Division 4- Hare (Chaotic Good) Leader: The Cavalier Multi-Sentient A.I. Collective   While the Eternal Empire is very anti-magic, seeing that it is more times than not connected to divine beings, the CMS Collective does not carry that prejudice. His mothership is a series of ships that could detach and reattach at command, connected my magic and portals. Its full form looks like a floating mountain and has several different ecosystems throughout. The CMS Collective itself is numerous A.I.s, which gives it the ability to separate if in danger.   Sub-leaders: • Archmage Vandal (Human head of magical studies) • Lord Elkhorn (Elf captain of the first dreadnought) • Nefarim Legray (Aasimar captain of the second dreadnought) • Lute Hanmer son of dark tunnels (Rock gnome captain of the third dreadnought) • The Cherished Arcana (non-eternal empire created A.I. pure magic entity, treasurer of magic)   Division’s Duty: The Fourth Division is a recon division, concerned more with acquiring enemy data and means of circumnavigating conflict. When not scouting, its units are in charge of magical cleanup and containment. While they have some efforts in finding old Eternal Empire outposts, during the invasion of the Veritian Leaf this division was tasked in taking the Dormant Lands and cleanse the Dormant presence.   Division 5- Dragon (Lawful Evil) Leader: The Tatzelwurm   The Tatzelwurm went for intimidation and power for his mothership. The ship is a gargantuan dragon. But it is still a ship, so it does not have life like movements, and there is a city within its belly. One thing about the Tatzelwurm is that it is highly motivated by wealth and profit, and is often concerned with the finances of the fleet. The A.I. sees the ship as its body.   Sub-leaders: • The Calculator (clockwork sentient Master of Finances) • Bredreontem, Eternal Fire (Red dragon captain of the first dreadnought) • Giellunth, The Nocturnal (Black dragon captain of the second dreadnought) • Frokaepher, The Rabbit Slayer (Silver dragon head of financial restitution) • Choaly, The Slow (Mind dragon captain of the third dreadnought) Division’s Duty: The fifth division is a reserve division. It manages communications with the homeland and its colonies, and carries the financial aspect of the fleet. Many of their ships carry military payments between the other divisions, managing taxation, looting, and other business areas of occupation. They are also the ones who deal with fraud, embezzlement, and theft. In the invasion of the Veritian Leaf, they are on standby, waiting for the advance force to take territory before coming in to help the occupation, as well as defending their air routes back to the Eternal Empire.   Division 6- Serpent (Neutral Evil) Leader: Jörmungandr   Jörmungandr is an A.I. program copied from a captured Couatl from Mineos. He prefers to show himself as pure energy, appearing as an electric snake. As long as there is connecting wires, Jörmungandr can travel throughout his ship, and even send copies of himself to other power sources. The sixth division’s mothership looks like a giant ring with another smaller ring hooped onto it and spinning around it.   Sub-leaders: • Division 6 Dreadnought Two Autopilot • Lent Carlson (Best friend of Jörmungandr) • Captain Spiro Fotides (Human Captain of the first dreadnought) • General Tinduutulath (Yugoloth captain of the third dreadnought) • The Chemist (a tabaxi toxicologist and head of Division 6 insurgency program)   Division’s Duty: The Sixth Division is one of the main offensive divisions of the Fourteenth Fleet. They excel in infiltration, subterfuge, and insurrection tactics rather than full on invasions. Thus, they are often sent to weaken strong enemies over longer campaigns. One would rarely see the Sixth Division in full, as their missions often span large areas. In the invasion of the Veritian Leaf, they are a part of the offensive against the church of Veritas.   Division 7- Stallion (Lawful Good) Leader: Power Unit C-0743 (dubbed Cotas)   Power Unit C-0743 is an energy management A.I. Its main function is maintenance of other A.I. systems and the maximization of energy output. While every other division has programs to do similar things, this unit does it for the major A.I. programs themselves. While there is no official leadership amongst the A.I., many claim this position belongs to Cotas. Its mothership is simply a larger carrier (exponentially larger). Its bodily form looks like a celestial suit of armor.   Sub-leaders: • Author, Hero of Glass (Human paladin of Cotas) • Zoo Tuk Nalashch (Goblin beastmaster, captain of the first dreadnought) • Lady Silvy Nocturn, duchess of Severance (Head of Fourth Fleet Personal) • Crab (warforged captain of the second dreadnought) • Colonel Groenbearing (Dwarf captain of the third dreadnought)   Division Duties: Other than supervising energy output of the fleet as a whole, this division is also the diplomatic branch of the fleet (considering it is more energy efficient not to fight). So, in the Veritian Leaf invasion, while the main offensive is fighting the Church of Veritas, Division 7 has travelled to the central region of the Veritian Leaf to negotiate with places like Tumult, the Sovereign Peoples of Neih, the Bludgeon Halls and other city states.   Division 8- Ram (True Neutral) Leader: Lesvetter RAM System   The Lesvetter RAM System is an A.I. without any attached morality or motivation. Every Eternal Empire Fleet has one of these just in case they need an objective view of the fight. Though it does not turn on the Eternal Empire, it cares nothing for victory, defeat, or anything. Thus, the Division has a lot more freedom within its own ranks, as their head A.I. is more like an advisor. The mothership looks like a jellyfish with a large orblike structure at its core. The Lesvetter program shows itself in a liquid state, often being confused for some elemental like thing.   Sub-leaders: • The Owl Historian (Strig librarian and memory manager) • The Scribe (Vampire keeper of knowledge and theory) • Guardian Lena Treefallow, Daughter of Dimples (Halfling captain of the first dreadnought) • Guardian Luke Nevea, Son of Purity (Human captain of the second dreadnought) • Guardian Frost Tanner, Herold of Cold Summits (Ice Spriggan captain of the third dreadnought)   Division Duties: Though it sends its troops often to the front, usually at less necessary targets, the Eighth Division also carries the memory core of the Eternal Empire, a record of its history. There is a great library within the mothership is a hub for higher education, social sciences, and other historical preservation. In the invasion of the Veritian Leaf, the eighth division was tasked to claim the city of Cosmic Observatory and scour it for information on the Church of Veritas. After that, assist the other offensives against the Church of Veritas.   Division 9- Monkey (Chaotic Neutral) Leader: The Laughing Mechanic   The Laughing Mechanic A.I. system has a different history to other A.I.s as it rose through the ranks rather than was designed for its purpose. Scientists do not fully understand where the system got the will to change like such, originally meant to run a ship repair factory. It then snuck onto a Fourth Fleet ship, and advanced as such until it defeated the previous A.I. of the ninth division. His motives are unclear. Its mothership looks like a larger dreadnought at first, but it has the capability to transform into a humanoid mech. It has a warforged body.   Sub-leaders: • Flex Ratchet (Gnome captain of the first dreadnought) • Lieutenant Lucky (Human with a genie familiar, captain of the second dreadnought) • Synthwave Shock (robot bard, captain of the third dreadnought) • Mortuscirxi (Beholder head of psionics) • Wonder All-ears (clockwork monkey best friend of the Laughing Mechanic)   Division Duties: While the ninth division is an offensive division, they are meant to do the least glamorous missions. They are the division of thankless duty, but they make the most of it. Them being the cannon fodder has given them a strange humor around war. In the invasion of the Veritian Leaf, the ninth Division was sent deal with the shogunate of Eastern Dakath. As it is a forest nation that is very militant, their invasion follows a liberation mentality, as the shogunate is run by the tyrant Kalethorn Nur.   Division 10- Rooster (Chaotic Neutral) Leader: The Crow   The Crow is a communications A.I. Its mothership looks like a flying cell tower. The A.I. prefers to go the route of persuasion, leaving the mothership with few defenses. But, if need be, it could produce sounds to deafen a city. The Crow is continuously producing satellites which it launches throughout the world to spread Eternal Empire propaganda. This A.I. has no body, preferring to stay in the realm of sounds.   Sub-leaders: • Knox Yckvillian (Halfling radio host of the Inter Fourth Fleet radio) • The Voice of the Eternal Empire (Corvum head of propaganda) • Captain Squall (Air genasi captain of the first dreadnought) • Lord Tinker Boxharvest (Warforged captain of the second dreadnought) • Mr. Jack Thunderclap, aka Lord Befarious (Clockwork gnome captain of the third dreadnought)   Division Duties: This division is in charge of communication, propaganda, recruitment, and disinformation. They manage special forces, secret missions, espionage, and other black operations. This is generally known, but the extent is unknown. Most think that the Crow is more concerned with being the media of the Fourth Fleet. In the invasion of the Veritian Leaf, the tenth fleet is tasked to take the Ten Thousand Lakes region, which they hope to do through nonmilitary means as the region is not fond of the surrounding world powers.   Division 11- Hound (Neutral Good) Leader: The Mastiff   The Mastiff is a protection A.I. system and upgraded version of an A.I. meant to guard VIPs. His mothership is an old Spring Ark class ship from when the Eternal Empire left the worlds of Spring when Summer came. It has been upgraded to fit the Fourth Fleet’s most state of art health facility. The A.I.s body is a giant five headed dog.   Sub-leaders: • Doctor Samantha Fields, Lady of Blades (Head physician of the Fourth Fleet) • Inspector Glass, aka Ynnadite, The Quiet (Glass dragon head of military police) • Captain Neba Ib-Nabim (Half-elf captain of the first dreadnought) • Lady Marmiza (Githzerai captain of the second dreadnought) • Earl of Greymatter (Ethereal being captain of the third dreadnought)   Division Duties: This division is in charge of medical and the military police. This gives them a mixed reputation of both necessary and annoying do-gooders. While every division has some medical capability, none hold the long-term facilities that the Mastiff has. They also carry some resurrection capabilities, which is difficult for an atheistic military. But they also run the prison for defectors and other military criminals. In the invasion of the Veritian Leaf, other than their regular duties, the eleventh division is also in charge of running the occupation of conquered lands, making it a mostly defensive unit.   Division 12- Boar (Chaotic Neutral) Leader: An Equinox Services A.I.   This unit is run by a business A.I. which treats its division like a corporation to manage properly rather than a means of conquest. His mothership is a repurposed cargo freighter used in the most heavily populated regions of the Eternal Empire. This makes ESAI’s mothership the second largest in the Fourth Fleet, though most of it is for storage and industry, not weapons capability. An odd thing about ESAI is that it enjoys biological hosts for some reason, and its true form is a mass of slime filled with nanobots.   Sub-leaders: • Argus Redslate, CEO of Fourth Fleet Metallics (cyborg ceo) • Kid (warforged head of trade and supply) • Ferula Calarook (hag captain of the first dreadnought) • The Weapon Gatherer (dwarf captain of the second dreadnought) • Captain Stokes (Rakshasa captain of the third dreadnought)   Division Duties: While they get a lot of assistance from the motherland, sometimes that assistance is not handy. Thus, the Fourth Fleet has an industrial unit that manages industry, munitions, and logistics. It carries defensive capabilities, but this division is for replenishing military supplies. In the invasion of the Veritian Leaf, the twelfth division military capabilities hold a defensive roll, mostly keeping the Shadar-Kai mercenaries, privateers, and pirates from severing supply lines.   *Note: There are many other inter division organizations and collectives, both unique for the fourth fleet or branches from the motherland, but these would not be known by the average eternal empire soldier unless they are affiliated with them. This is just a rough idea of the leadership structure of the fleet, as well as the purpose of each division.

History

The Fourth Fleet was founded in 4903 of the Eternal Empire's third Summer. It is an offensive fleet meant to subdue dangerous civilizations. While it has been around for a couple millennium, its track record is the worst of the five offensive fleets. It was quickly outshone by the Fifth Fleet when is was launched in 5197. It has only conquered half a dozen leaves and destroyed around 30 civilizations. Its only boon was its surveillance capabilities, as the fleet monitored over a hundred neighboring continents.   In 6655 (1093 of the Veritian Calendar), the Fourth Fleet was tasked to invade Menthol, a civilization of elven moth fey. It started out well, but the Menthalese turned things around when they destroyed the Fourth Fleet's thirteenth division. They wanted to keep fighting, but the Fatherland called them home, giving the task to the First Fleet who are still fighting the Menthalese.   In 6664 (1102 of the Veritian Calendar), the Fourth Fleet invaded the Veritian Leaf. Though it was not commanded from above, they submitted enough justification for invasion to the Eternal Military Command to gain authorization in the matter. With this being said, this is a Fourth Fleet matter, and will get minimal support from the Fatherland.
