Eternal Empire Destroyer

The Eternal Empire Destroyer class warship is a type of frigate meant to defend larger ships like carriers and motherships from oncoming threats and provide some light bombardment or siege capabilities. It can carry up to 400 souls, though it only needs 200 crew members to be fully manned, with a skeleton crew of seventy. This model was made in the third Summer of the Eternal Empire. They are mass produced throughout the Eternal Empire, and have an easy enough design to be made while invaded a neighboring leaf. Most decommissioned Destroyers are sold to merchant factions, as their cheap and efficient design does carry the cost of quick obsolescence for military combat. The Eternal Empire's Fourth Fleet has several hundred of these ships scattered amongst its divisions.

Power Generation

Their main power generation is in the middle of Lower Deck 02, which maintains the heat of the balloon systems, their engines, and general systems. It runs on biofuel.

Propulsion

As a leaf hopper class airship, it has powerful rear engines powered by biofuel that propels the ship upwards. It then relies on the combined aid of wings and two air balloons unbuilt into the main deck to keep it gliding without the need of much energy usage and alter altitude. They also have front engines for quick stopping and landing, and if need be a quick retreat. Both rear and front engines could be found on the Lower Deck 03.

Weapons & Armament

On the main deck, a destroyer has ten anti-air flak cannons and one larger siege cannon. On Lower Deck 03 they have six more anti-air flak cannons. They have more weapons above than below because Eternal Empire Summer ships are more vulnerable from above, and the Destroyer's design is to mitigate the possibility of such attacks. They do have an optional bombing bay design at the bottom of the ship, but Destroyer captains often decide against it, choosing the more safety oriented foam keel design as it lowers the chance of losing all hands in the instance of a crash landing.

Armor and defense

Most its armor is on its hull. During combat, they are able to retract most their vulnerable systems (like their engines and communication tower) so that the metal plated hull could take the hits. Even with these capabilities, the armor of a Destroyer is not top of the line, as they go for speed over durability.

Communication Tools & Systems

They have a communication tower and relay system to keep them in the loop of their mothership's A.I. They all also have a Destroyer class light A.I. in case the captain is somehow out of service. These A.I.s do not have artificial wills, so they lack the improvisation and problem solving of a living creature, but in case of emergencies they come into play.

Sensors

Destroyers do not have great long range sensors, relying more on relayed information. They are not scouting ships. But, they make up for it with good targeting systems for their weapons.

Additional & auxiliary systems

Their water and sewage is on the lowest deck, with auxiliary water tanks in the mess. If these systems are destroyed, they have means of catching water by passing through the mists of Summer.

Hangars & docked vessels

Destroyers do not have the capability to carry other vessels. They do have parachutes in case they need to abandon ship.
