Head Butler Poston is the loyal servant of the Salmonpuddle estate of Felicity. He held that position since he inherited it from his father who served the original Salmonpuddles from before the Dragon Blight. The aged gnome holds onto hope that one day another Salmonpuddle will return like Kourend did in the year 1040.

Motivation
His duty is to serve the Salmonpuddle estate. He lost that honor for a short stint between 990-1040 when the Silvergraft elves evicted the old gnome from the estate after the last member of the Salmonpuddle family passed. He did not know that Kourend survived, living as a pauper on the streets of Felicity. If he did, he would have cared for him. But, he had the honor to return to his position when Kourend returned to Felicity and reclaimed his estate. And since Kourend died a hero, his estate will be always ready for the Salmonpuddle return as long as Head Butler Poston holds his post.

What finances his stay at the Salmonpuddle Estate goes beyond governmental support though. The estate had made a deal with Black Market Magics, who does business through the estate within Felicity. This is a more secret connection that Poston honors only because Kourend set it up.
