Elias Meadowgrove

Elias Meadowgrove was the creation of Kaitie Rooth.   Elias was a halfling paladin of Summer worship from the city of Evermore. She was one of the many refugees to flee the region after the Dormant invasion, following the crowds that made it to Tumult. While in Tumult, she heard of the prophet of Neih Frillith and decided to stake her hat in that cause. It was a short lived partnership as, when they went to investigate the city of Riverside and got tangled up in what was later called the Frozen War, both Elias and Frillith died.   But this was not the end of the story of Elias Meadowgrove, as the Frittian curse that raised the dead in the region also raised her, but due to her connection with Summer she did not fall under the control of the Child of Frit. Still, she was a mostly brainless zombie, unable to communicate nor think for herself. In this state, she followed the people close to her at the time, the party of Kourend Salmonpuddle.   After the Frozen War, Elias returned to Felicity and met her friend, the Sensible Undead. They had met earlier when she did a job in the sewers of Felicity. He helped her become more conscious once more, and sparked a recurring friendship. But that education was not long lived, as Elias went with her friends to meet with the king of Tumult, king Iscalon. That meeting did not end well, as the king wound up dead and the party were sentenced to life in prison at the Pit.   The Pit was not so terrible for the mindless Elias. The monotonous work and friendly goblins made life there pretty nice. But her friends convinced her of their need to escape, so she helped to the best of her limited cognitive ability. After the escape, she had a nice voyage on an airship, visited a cave full of snakes, played cards with a paraclete, and performed quite well at a concert in Val'ul. Undead life went pretty swell for the mindless halfling, and she was expecting a life of peace when she got a job as the minstrel of the Mirabel family.   She spent some time in Val'ul playing away when news came to the Mirabel household of the coronation of King Bedrich. Renewing their relations with their neighbor to the north, some delegates were sent to Tumult for various reasons. One such delegation was led by Nymira Fenfyx who went to the city of Dusk to aid in the Demon Troubles there. She insisted on bringing Elias with her, as she had connections with Kourend Salmonpuddle, the lord sent to fix this issue. Elias took part in that conflict, and in it gained the Hall of Seasons and her life back. This renewed her connection to Summer, and thus renewed her fight against the Dormant. She went with Gojira and Malvo to Tel'ul after the battle in Dusk was concluded.   While they set out to build Tel'ul's defense against the Dormant, their first concern was the situation in Val'ul. After finding an evacuation point in Tel'ul, they went through the portal to the currently trapped in a temporal bubble magic city. While they tried and failed to save that city, they were able to rescue the Mirabels. This cemented a friendship between them, and Elias and her friends even were able to attend the wedding of Lady Mirabel and King Bedrich (though they were not fond of the husband). They would share a correspondence for the remainder of Elias' life, as Mirable would inform her of the going-ons of Tumult and she would tell Mirabel of the state of Val'ul's survivors.   During the building of the defenses of Tel'ul, Elias worked with the poor and refugees of the city, bringing good cheer, work and supplies to the people there. This built a support in the lower classes for the defense of the city, so when the time came to fight they too were on the walls with their richer brethren. Her light brought hope into the fight against a superior force and death cult. She stood fast against the Dormant and made her city proud, even killing the general Fall's Watcher before he escaped. Her light shone even against the arrival of Fall himself, her last words and wish breaking the Stillborn God's connection to the Veritian Leaf at the cost of her life.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

Her period of undeath and subsequent revival back to full life thanks to the power of Summer left her a glowing gaunt creature. A strange lifelessness sits upon her, despite her joix de vivre.

Social

Contacts & Relations

She is good friends with the strange figure the Sensible Undead.   During her time in Tel'ul, Elias met a halfling bard named Pops and grew quite attached. He became a grandfatherly figure to her and a reminder of her home. When he died fighting a Dormant Clot ambush, a rage burned in her against the Dormant. The battle cry "For Pops!" rang out many times in the battle to come, one that rang out even to the ears of the Stillborn God.   Also during her last months in Tel'ul, Elias and her friends discovered an instillation of the Eternal Empire. She was very curious about this mysterious entity and pushed that Val'ulian researchers study and keep an eye on the site. Even after her death, this initiative is in effect, and a society of Eternal Empire Eyes (or the EEE) was formed to keep track of Eternal Empire activity and to study their tech.   Elias' legacy brought about a new order of Summer paladins devoted to the defeat of the Dormant, the freeing of Evermore, and the worship of Summer. While Summer worship tended to be mostly a halfling religion, Elias' legacy in Tel'ul made the faith quite popular amongst the many groups in the eastern Southern Farmlands region. They've become a sect of their own, a bit more militant and geopolitically active. Their aversion of the Dormant is their key difference opposed to other Summer Worship, with their group even sending groups to other continental leaves to fight the Dormant there.
