Daequis
Daequis Searedsight
Daequis was the creation of David Martineau.
Daequis was a dragonborn from the town of Nezadir who went that path of the assassin in the hopes to getting revenge for his family. He never fulfilled this goal, as in his travels he killed a bartender named Von, whose sons later found his killer and got their revenge. His was an unfinished plotline due to the player abandoning the character, but his story may have some barring if future games lead to the Ten Thousand Lake region north of Bludgeon Halls and West of Dakath.

Personal history
From the dragonborn town of Nezadir, Daequis is a veteran to the war of the Ten Thousand Lakes and the siege of Contract. After the death of his parents at the age of seven, he dropped out of the Dragonkin Academy and joined the Knuckleskull Regiment. There he learned the way of combat and grew a great bond with his fellow soldiers. A part of the cavalry, he spent his young adult years going from one campaign to the next.
At 19, he took the customary five year leave to marry the love of his life, the dragonborn Harann in which he lived happily, bearing three children with her. He would have done anything for his brood, but times grew tough after Nezadir went to war with the cutthroat city of Arman. The economy was poor, and Daequis could not maintain such a quickly growing family. He needed to break custom and work.
A group of his dragonkin had a better idea and needed his help. They planned to end the war quickly by cutting off the head of the snake, the leader of House Rosegrip, Bledrorth Rosegrip. One night, they infiltrated the city and successfully killed Bledrorth, but Daequis was seen taking a wristwatch from the corpse. The war did not end, but intensified, reaching Daequis’ doorstep.
They slaughtered his family, skinning them and using their scales as trophies of shame to Nezadir. Daequis did not even have the opportunity to defend them as the regiment was forced to assist the evacuation of Nezadir proper while his brood lived on the outskirts. He thought he had time, but trained assassins knew where to strike him personally. On there skinned bodies was a letter saying, “I want my watch back!” signed the Real Bledrorth Rosegrip.
Nezadir crumbled that day, the dragonborn fleeing to the mountains. But, Daequis did not flee. After burying his wife and children, he sought to work out his active revenge on Arman and House Rosegrip. With no longer an army at his back, he could not master another direct assault on the den of thieves. But, to catch a thief, one must think like a thief.
He travelled to the human city of Contact dejected and destitute, but hungry for revenge. He started simple, a pickpocket here, a slit throat there, and began to move like the shadows despite his golden skin. He is still learning and takes his days in strides with a joke here and a terrible one-liner there and combines military tactics with his criminal expertise. He had a knack for it, and one fellow rogue noticed.
A gnome pickpocket in Contact named Trevor gave Daequis a pair of dice. He told him of a rogue in the country of Tumult can help him with his vengeance, and these dice are tokens of worthiness. The mystery man was last seen in the town of Vigil, but it is likely that he is no longer there. But it is a place to start. Daequis travelled to Vigil with hope and calculated vengeance and got caught in a barfight as soon as he arrived.
His jailing led to him meeting Frillith, Julius Dharkness, Kourend Salmonpuddle, and Dingus Rockharvest. He took part in the Vigil conflict with the Dormant Cult, joined the Guild of Rogues, fought demons in Crossroads, and was with the group all the way to Felicity. Yet, back in Vigil, one mishap in a small rat clearing job at the local inn led him to hastily kill the inn owner Von. Von was not only the friend of Frillith (who never learned of Daequis' deed), but also had five goblin sons who were adventurers themselves. These brothers found their dead parents, and sought their own vengeance on Daequis.
So, one day, Daequis went out to do another job for the guild of Rogues, and never returned to the Salmonpuddle Estate.
