Yester Hill

By day or night, stretching up to the limits of vision, the edges of my realm are marked by a great wall of mist. I was there at its birth.

Yester Hill is an oddity in its surrounding area. It is a large hill in the middle of the Svalich Woods to the south of the Wizard of Wines. It is covered in dead grass and upon it stand two circles of cairns, below which long-dead Wildfolk rest. On the crest of the hill stands a circle of black rock, slick with moss. On days of bad weather, lightning seems to strike here often, leaving scorched spots on the ground and rocks. On the southern side of the hill stand a large Gulthias Tree. Wildfolk worship here, believing it to be an ancient place of power.
To the west of the hill a wall of mist lingers evermore. It however seems more substantial than the normal mists covering Barovia. Staring into it, one can almost see golden light illuminating a beautiful castle.

Atop of the hill lies a shattered statue of root and earth that once depicted Strahd von Zarovich. The remains of Wintersplinter too lie upon the crest, slain by the Danger Strangers.
