The God of War and Valor

Lord Hrothmund (a.k.a. Olaf Longarm)

Hrothmund, the Ragniasi God of War, is a man, made into a god, born amidst fire and brimstone, He is considered the chief deity of the Ragniasi pantheon, and is the patron deity of warriors and Kings. His domain is War and Valor, Wrath and Ruin, Pain and Damnation, Suffering and Strength. Long ago, the Elven people, who were called the Eldari then, considered Hrothmund a demon- a ruinous shadow upon the horizon, a harbinger of destruction, their cities doomed to die and their people to be slaughtered. However, with the rise of Mankind as the dominant race in Ragnias, Hrothmund is seen as a sign of Victory, for whoever he walks alongside is granted victory, and in battles that can decide the fate of Ragnias, he oversees and grants strength to the side that he believes worthy of it.

Personal history

In Ragniasi religion, Hrothmund is Firstborn of Drakaris, Bearer of the World's Torch, mother to the First Five. Raised with hatred and disdain burning in his heart for their father, the Great Dragon, Hrothmund swore to take their fathers skull as a trophy, and adorn his body with jewelry made from the Great Dragons talons and teeth.   Acting as the field commander of the army that led the assaults upon the Great Dragon and the Fireborn, Hrothmund spearheaded the offense, his impressive physical might and insatiable appetite for slaughter made it so that Victory was almost certain. He commanded the Great Dragon's attention, forcing it to focus on him while his siblings battered and shattered his scaly hide and forced it to remain still. When the scales were broken, Hrothmund took hold of the Great Dragon's wings, slowly tearing them from the creature's back as it flailed about in agony, casting great oceans of fire across the sky in its rage. One of his many wounds, Hrothmunds right side was scorched, but he was relatively unharmed; his mother had granted him the same immortal hide that the Great Dragon, his father had. Hrothmund is depicted still allowing the wound to appear upon his body, seeing it as a reminder of what he is- a man granted Godhood. Upon the Fall of the Great Dragon, Hrothmund took his heartstone, a build-up of valuable and impossibly strong minerals in the Dragon's heart, and used it to craft the glaive, Rozol, The Harbinger. With this weapon, Hrothmund stood from atop a mountain and used the glaive to beat back an Army of Storm Colossi, who threatened the Kingdom that he had built. Every time the weapon struck its mark, it would explode violently, before returning to Hrothmund's hand in a flash of fire. The explosions broke and shattered the Storm Colossi armor, the pieces falling to the earth with earth-shattering force, creating the nearly impossibly tall Iron Mountains.   As a God, Hrothmund ruled Ragnias for centuries, before his mortal body expired and he ascended to another plane and built his Great Halls, described as gilded halls crafted from mountains and gold, watching over the world from them, joined by the honored and Mighty dead go to reside until the coming of The High War. Upon his deathbed, Hrothmund proclaimed his successors would be that of the Firstborn children of his line, ensuring the Realms always had a Lord willing and capable of dominating the battlefield as he had. Convergence Scholars contend that he was sealed away in a tomb of ice and iron, far to the North, some even believing that the Pantheon rose to prominence after Hrothmunds death, many coming to worship him at his tomb. Some believe the tomb is locked deep within the earth, farther than any race, even the dwarves, have ever mined. Others say that the Sanctus Bellum, once part of the great and illustrious city that mankind had built after Hrothmunds rise to Godhood, is the final resting place of the God-King, still sealed within ice and iron beneath a colossal monolith within the sanctum. It is believed that in the days of The Final War, Hrothmund's blood will reignite, and the God shall return to the Mortal World, leading an army of the honored and mighty dead to stand and ride alongside him when He wages the Final War.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

To endure long enough to see an end to the universe, and be among the last few beings left to battle during the Final War

Virtues & Personality perks

Hrothmund is honorable beyond compare- his word is as strong and unbending as steel. If he declares his favor for one side of a battle, he will not falter in their assistance. He is also very generous to his family, willing to grant incredible amounts of godly strength to his descendants in their darkest hours, leaving only enough for himself to not fade away and be forced to reconstitute his body.

Vices & Personality flaws

Hrothmund neglects his role as a father figure in many of his children's and his descendant's lives, acting more so as a God to rule over them than a guiding hand to assist them.

History

During the Great War against the Fireborn and the Great Dragon, both Ingemar and Hrothmund watched each others backs, often literally, fighting side by side as Ingemar set up tactical advantages using her cunning and precise planning for Hrothmund to reap the benefits with his immeasurable strength and ferocity. Often they were comfortable in each others company, the two spending countless nights together for both planning and for personal favors, which grew increasingly personal every time. When the war was over, the two were night inseparable, having spent almost 10 years at eachothers side. Ingemar, then known as Elvira in Keltosil, decided to stay with Hrothmund when he tore the realms apart in an effort to protect them from each other, and took on a new name to suit her new home. They spent the rest of their lives together, ruling a kingdom that Hrothmund built with the same people he had led during their war, along with those he conquered. Much later, Hrothmund took a second wife- Amara, later known as the Goddess of Love and Fertility. Ingemar felt insulted, but hid her resentment for Hrothmunds decision because it was part of his culture. She did loose some respect for him though.   When Hrothmunds mortal form expired, Ingemar commanded that the tomb be only accessible by those of Hrothmund's blood. When it came time to lay his body to rest, Ingemar, who still had great respect for her husband, willingly went with him, embracing the body of her lifelong lover as the tomb was sealed behind her. The mortal bodies of Hrothmund and Ingemar still reside within the tomb, remaining untouched by time and mortal hands for 30,000 years.

Relationship Reasoning

The Two grew close over the course of their war, and thus decided that they could not live without one another.

Commonalities & Shared Interests

They were both capable warriors, and sought to strengthen each others weaknesses by fighting alongside one another for the rest of their days. They both held honor in a high regard, and valued the spoken word without fault.

History

The Two were close friends since they were born, both of them being raised in the shadow of the Great Dragon. While Adaliah had the worse of it being his eldest daughter, Hrothmund too knew the tyranny of her father, and thus convinced her to help him in his endeavor to overthrow him and his master.
