Languages
There are many different languages on Tellus, detailed below.
Karathusian: Spoken in Karathus and the Lothar Republic, quite complex, difficult to learn. (Similar to English)
Darakan: Spoken, less commonly, in Karathus, and adopted among the nobility of most nations to allow them to speak across language barriers. (Similar to French)
Lunisian: Spoken in the Archiat Confederacy and less commonly in the Farron Imperium, quite a melodic sounding language. (Similar to Swedish)
Farronese: Spoken in the Farron Imperium, close to Lunisian, but more gutteral and, to some, unpleasant sounding. (Similar to Icelandic)
Yharmic: Spoken in Yharm, very different to the other common languages, with almost no crossover in sentence structure or scripture. (Similar to Mongolian)
Sobek: Sometimes called primordial, as the sobek language was the first recorded language in history; varies quite substantially from place to place, famously unreliable as a means of ambassadorial communication.
Aphelian: Barely recorded, a pleasure among the few aphelions on Tellus when they get to speak it. Impossible to speak or understand by non-aphelions without additional technology. To non-speakers it just sounds like incomprehensible droning.
Imum: Spoken by the imum, more commonly known as thalassomorphs; reclusive creatures who dwell in the far depths of the ocean.
Celestial: Often used for scientific words, as well as religious importance; again, rarely used for general conversation.
Drakonic: Spoken by dragons, derived from Abyssal.
Eblis: Language of the eblis, an intelligent avian species; incredibly difficult to learn by most species, due to the eblis' difference in vocal structure.
Stygian: Language of the styg, sounds like a series of non-distinguishable clicks and buzzes to most ears.
