Hobgoblin
The first Hobgoblins were born from an ancient time when the nation of Korkusz allied with the orcs of Gorano against the Hellenic Republic. The mixing of the races at that time produced half-orc/half-goblin children that came to be known as hobgoblins. The hobgoblins earned a reputation as a warrior people originally dedicated to the leaders of the country, bred to a code of military service and honor. Some left the nation, often as part of hired mercenary troops. In the medieval era the hobgoblin guards of Korkusz were an elite force dedicated to protecting the Grand Prince, though they were never allowed to join the nobility themselves. After many generations, a hobgoblin leader led a coup, taking control of the country and holding it for two centuries before being ousted. In that time the "Rule of Hob" staged invasions of both the Midlands and Somaj , and their descendants still hold the Somaji kingdom of Almuk. In the treaty that established the new Korkuszi government, hobgoblins were given full status. Since then they have spread even further, but are often still pulled to careers involving both discipline and combat.
While most hobgoblins are part of the well-established hobgoblin line, any child of a Goblin and Orc is a hobgoblin.
