Mènuded
May {name} rejoin us speedily and may the Hallowed One [Mènuded] kindly return them better than they were before. When most people conceive of gods of death, their image usually is of wretched skeletons whisking the recently-deceased to whatever comes next or evil deities who revel in necromancy and raising the dead. Mènuded is different. As almost all religious Binian folk believe in the concept of reincarnation, Mènuded is simply the figure who is charged with that transition. He simply fulfills Urkœri's judgements regarding the rebirth of the person's soul.
Depiction and Worship
Mènuded is depicted differently in many of the Binian Richterlendy. Most of the Richterlendy, particularly the western ones like Sofenz and Galeo, show him as a bald young man dressed in a simple black robe. In the east - Tannéran in particular - Mènuded wears white and is often much older. Naturally, he is most commonly petitioned during funerals. As the funeral is the event that puts the soul of the recently-deceased in his hands, he is most well-known for these services. One marked difference between Binian funerals and many other kinds is that they are decidedly happy if sober occasions. The belief is that the more joy the person made during their lifetime, the more likely they are to be treated well in the next life, so having a heartening funeral is basically a necessity.

The Mausoleums of Mènuded
Dodhuze or "houses of the dead" are the closest thing that servants and devotees of Mènuded have to temples. These buildings are maintained by the Kraneglèn and are traditionally made of white marble to contrast the black-robed figures within and around them during funerals, although where white-robed priests are more common, the colour of the Dodhus might change.Remove these ads.
