25 - 3/4
With the meeting with Anders not scheduled until the afternoon, Zelem and Morrigan spent the early part of the day on a few tasks. Zelem continued to work on copying the notes he had got from the bandits hideout implicating Gellan Primewater, but on one copy he burned it to indicate nefarious work but to remove Gellans name in preparation for a later plan.
Morrigan spent the morning down at crabbers cove where the belligerent fisherman had complained about the crabbers lines tangling their rudders. After bribing some into hearing her out, she managed to mediate a solution between the two camps, to the satisfaction of both parties. Content that she had garnered some good will among the peasants, she began to return to meet with Zelem but stopped off at the local library first. Here she hoped to learn more information regarding the local docks, sea currents and fishing, and met a new inhabitent. It seems the mermaid from Kennmouth, whom Morrigan had not met, had made a new home in the Seaside Seminary of Tohoraha. Morrigan learned that she had infact came from Kennmouth, and was concerned that the fey woman would reveal that the curse was lifted. When she got back to Zelem, the two discussed this and Zelem decided to convince her not to spread the information. Finally, the two prepared with their upcoming meeting.
After discussing their plan, the two set off to Anders Estate to meet with the councilman. He received them with a display of lavish luxury, and began to hear them out on their successes at Cragmaw Castle. With his first caravan leaving soon, it would arrive before the next council session and he could began assessing the damage for renovation. Anders still wished to provide this keep for the Knights of the Black Adder, who would provide additional security and stability for the region and a safety net for his caravans. In return, Anders vowed to propose before the council that council members would no longer be able to hold the same position as Captain of the Guard, which would weaken Eliander Fireborns position and give more freedom to those wishing to operate outside the law. A few more topics were brought up, from the allegiances of the barons to Anders thoughts on them. Content that they had done all they could, the group enjoyed some small talk before parting ways.
Before calling it a night, Zelem slipped off to the Saltmarsh Barracks and Jail to break out the criminal Marlin Mallory. Using Gaseous form and a bit of intimidation, Zelem broke him out of the jail. The next morning, Valor Windsail arrived at the Hoolwatcher tower in a panic, claiming that somebody had destroyed evidence of Marlins involvement with somebody important and that he might risk being freed. A dispatch was sent to the jail, where Zelems handiwork was discovered and the bandit was nowhere to be seen. It seemed that Zelems ploy had worked, and while Eliander was disappointed at the results he seemed to gain some trust in Zelem (as Valor) at the attempt to warn them.
With only a few days until Morrigan's first council meeting, it seemed early to start any large ventures so the two began to focus on smaller tasks until the upcoming important date.
