The Mirror of Lost Futures is an artifact of Syrenna, goddess of the supernatural. She created the mirror to remind her followers the closeness and necessity of the afterlife, and it serves as a reminder that the afterlife is always close. Originally, the mirror stood at twice the height of an average human, and nearly twice that in width. Immediately after its creation, however, the mirror was shattered, its pieces distributed to any followers who wished to carry a part of their faith with them. The unclaimed fragments remain in the Grand Temple of Syrenna on Prospera. For those in Vehasi and Valadia, the shards are granted to Syrenna's followers after they take her sacred oath, in a divine ceremony every initate into the faith must go through. The Circlet of the Past was created from shards of the mirror.

Properties

The image reflected when looking into the Mirror of Lost futures is not a regular reflection, though the image shown does still depend on who is looking into the mirror. A person who looks into the mirror will see reflected back an image of what they will look like once they die. To followers of Syrenna, this is a reminder to embrace what they have, rather than stress about the future. However, it can be highly unsettling to non-worshippers.

Significance

The Mirror of Lost Futures is an incredibly important item to members of the Creed of the Ethereal, Syrenna's church. To her acolytes, it is a reminder of their faith and a symbol of their goddess. Every member of the Creed has a shard from the Mirror, and many use it as part of their spellcasting or their prayer. Most include it in some form of daily religious ritual, varying depending on the individual.
