Nordir

The Northern Ice Cap

The land itself is buried under tens of quadrillions of tons of ice. The winters can bring about deadly storms of liquid nitrogen rain (sometimes even oxygen at the pole, resulting in more of Jorden's atmosphere spilling in and boiling away the liquid, which creates a perpetual pillar of mist), in which seeking shelter is absolutely vital if you want to survive more than a minute. Despite these deadly conditions, however, life and civilization still manage to thrive on this ice cap.   One of the main upsides of visiting Nordir is the spectacular view of the auroras. Due to Sonnah's powerful magnetic field, the auroras of Jorden extend far enough to be visible from the equator at night. However, from Nordir, the auroras appear directly overhead, and extend all the way out to the horizon. For this reason, much of the culture of Nordir revolves around the auroras.

Geography

Due to the cold, the terrain of Nordir is able to sustain mountains and cliffs of water ice, which aren't even slick during the winter. Some of the snow even consists of carbon dioxide rather than normal water ice. There is not much beyond this, as the continent itself is buried under the ice cap.

Fauna & Flora

Civilization on Nordir is predominantly tabaxi, as they are the only ones fully capable of contributing to a self-sustaining society in this climate. Living closer to the shores are other creatures such as winter wolves and polar bears, which in turn hunt the fish-eating seals. Tabaxi themselves will go on hunting trips out to the ocean, and primarily catch aquatic creatures.

Natural Resources

Pretty much the only resource available in Nordir is ice, and the towns and villages there are made of water ice due to it remaining solid even in the summer. The towns and villages of Nordir are able to obtain other resources for the making of hunting tools and other useful things via trade with the northern provinces of Drenora.
