Sister Miraya

The following information was copied from an old character sheet from my notes, and is subject to change depending on player input. Specific notes on the majority of prologue PCs have somehow been lost to time, so this information is currently what I'm operating on (Thankfully the player controlling Miraya left some detailed notes in my google drive, which is more than I can say for the other PCs).

Unarmored, Miraya stands at an imposing 6’ 2”, and her armor only adds to her stature. She has an impressive collection of old battle scars all over her muscular body from her participation in the The Unification Wars , including a long slash across the cheek just below her left eye. She keeps her auburn hair short and usually in a bun. For armor, she wears a self-made set of full plate custom-tailored to her that bears the heraldry of the Burning Heart. On her right pauldron is a black Fleur-de-Lys on a scarlet field (The symbol of all female members of the Order), and mounted on the gorget is a tiny silver skull emblem awarded by the Order for bravery and leadership in combat. She also keeps a numeral on her left kneeplate, declaring the highest number of combatants she has successively defeated in single combat. Currently, it is “III”.

Ceremonial awards include the Valor Ribbon awarded for being on the ‘right’ side of the Unification Wars and assisting in the founding of The Kingdom of Krakonia (granted to her entire family), the Cape of the Order (a short cape over her right shoulder that has a larger and more intricately decorated version of the emblem on her pauldron), and the Honor Rosette (basically Krakonia’s Purple Heart “Yay, you got hurt fighting our wars!”).

Miraya was born in Requerm as a second-generation child, and is only 24 years old. Raised by warrior-parents that were themselves children of warriors, Miraya has been inducted into a supposedly ancient (In its original world, anyway) Order, known as The Order of the Burning Heart . Its tenets dictate that each member be a glorious example of martial prowess and unyielding honor. In the Order’s tradition, she forged her own weapons and armor as she earned the right to bear them through endless hours of childhood and adolescent training. She has already earned combat honors as a result of her family participating in the Unification Wars that ultimately founded Krakonia, and wears the heraldry of the Burning Heart proudly. Once peace was achieved, Krakonia founded, and The Hook established, Miraya has received her adventurer’s license and been ‘seconded’ from her family and Order to the Hook. She now seeks to further the Order’s reputation, and her own, by becoming the most successful adventurer of her generation.

Young, brash, and possessed of the towering self-confidence of all young warriors, Miraya has the mental fortitude to withstand the violence of war and still remain a mostly likable person. While some find her off-putting, she is always polite and open for friendly discussion. In battle, Miraya prefers to eschew all attempts at stealth in favor of glorious charges (mounted or otherwise), honorable melee combat, and battle-hymns of glory sung at the top of her voice.

The rest of this article is written years later as I get prepared to run the Hook properly:

Sister Miraya first appeared in the prologue session of the campaign as one of the player characters, and has since become an NPC as the campaign begins its true start. She assisted in multiple behests, playing a key role when facing off against the Arzuros in The Lynian Gold Mines , as well as when investigating the ancient temple where the party met Violet .
