Goram the Persuader

Known as the "Snail King" through Bal-Punerian smugglers, Bal-Goram was a famous smuggler of Tyrenoi Purple-Back Snails (used in dyes, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, exotic food & pets).

However, the Delothian Collective banned the import of these snails from Punyre-Bal for becoming an invasive species to its marsh lands and for being the primary ingredient in synthesizing the recreational drug "Green Tide."

He wouldn't receive his title of Persuader after being sold out by his partner and caught by the Pyripsol port officials on his 57th trip into the Hellecian Sector with the purple snails. After being incarcerated on Ilocanos-7 and stripped of his Punerian title "Bal", Goram found he had an unusual influence over the organics of the Hellecian Sector.

Due to his near constant exposure to his snails and receiving an illegal infusion of Ichor into his bloodstream by a shady contact, Goram could impress hypnotic control over the weak-minded organics around him by looking into his glowing green eyes (similar effect of a Green Tide pod).

Seeing an opportunity to become a king among the disorganized ship dismantling operation on Ilocanos-7, Goram chose to stay in the shipyards and become his work pod's "persuader" or lawyer. Becoming his pod's champion while secretly sabotaging their chances at freedom to become the pod's secret despot.

Aboard the Psygorellius:

Goram the Persuader had a pretty good life in prison: his "subjects" loved him, and had free reign to make demands of the shipyard staff (most times without even needing his abilities). This all changed when Ulysses "Ollie" Dylos arrived and found it particularly easy to resist his "Green Tide" stare.

When Ollie, AJM-001 & Eucidrie made their escape, Goram used his powers to influence his "subjects" to hide on their escape vehicle and ambush them.

However, Atanica shot Goram in the legs and threw him in the brig. Proving his use as a retired smuggler, Goram found new life back in deep space as the Psygorellius' quartermaster.

Dylos and Goram would be at odds for most of their journey, being resistant to Goram's influence.

However, Dylos would soon discover Goram's powers of influence when Goram would convince AJ to turn around and collect more supplies for their long journey.

Eventually, during an inspection, Goram would plant contraband inside Dylos' quarters and have him imprisoned by the port authority. Dylos would eventually find a way out to escape and catch up to the Psygorellius.

By that time, the crew was almost completely under Goram's control (turning the exploratory vessel into a smuggling corsair).

Dylos was able to free AJ from Goram's control and maroon the smuggler on a distant moon.

Over the course of the series, Goram would pop up as a recurring antagonist until the day Atanica finished what she started back on Ilocanos-7 and put a bolt through his head.
