Festival of Shattered Gold

Held every 100 years, the Festival of Shattered Gold commemorates the death of their matriarch Hellestine and the following century it took to destroy the Pantheon at Karoj-Menos.

Every century, the festival is celebrated on one of the home worlds of the Patrokonoi-Hellecia - Neo-Dyloth for the Archaenids, The Reliquary for the Ionites, Koth for the Aeonites & Lycurgius for the Dodrians.

The festival begins when the Eris Comet (a golden piece of radioactive debris from Karoj-Menos) enters the Attican Core Cluster. And continue for over a year until the comet is sling shot around the cluster's neutron star (former location of Karoj-Menos; center of the sector) and back into space.

The host patrokonoi will provide the relays necessary to broadcast the celebrations to the whole sector, along with housing and feeding the exclusive celebrants chosen by lot.

However, the crux of the festival revolves around the production of their national re-enactment play: "The Glory of Hellestine & the Progenitors" (Archaenus, Iodium, Aenoia & Dodrus).

The host patrokonoi is given the honor to director the story surrounding the invasion of Karoj-Menos, giving a different context as to how their particular progenitor contributed the most to the downfall of the Gods.

However, many of these productions usually turn into propaganda in favor of putting the host patrokonoi in a better light and demonizing the others.

For example, an Ionite production might focus on the tact and planning of their progenitor Iodium inside Karoj-Menos. They would also demonize the arrogance of their twin brother Archaenus and how he nearly killed Iodium with a rock.

While an Archaenid production might play up the glory of battle along with Archaenus' brave sacrifice. But demonize Aeonia as being responsible for plunging the sector into the Age of Anarchy and Dodrus for letting her escape. 

While there are those whose feathers are rustled by these inaccurate portrayals. The most scrutiny is placed on the actress whose chosen to represent their matriarch Hellestine. Essentially becoming royalty and the embodiment of their home patrokonoi's values forever.   

Everyone who can travel, goes to the nearby colonies surrounding the neutron star to sing, dance & catch a glimpse of the symbol of their defiance against the Pantheon. Those who can't travel, flock to their nearest transmission relays to watch the festivities unfold. 

While political rhetoric always manages to circulate around the festivities. It is seen as bad taste to promote one's campaign or eire one's grievances about their sibling patrokonoi in front of the whole sector.

Which is how the Lanaxdrian Revolt on Thessalis-Prime happened after the Fulcrum Blade-Masters of Thessalis-Prime kidnapped the Lacdrian princess and the festival's matriarchal actress Lanaxridite to protest the living conditions inside the Delot Manufacturing Complexes.

Her accidental death led to months of rioting in the Delot Manufacturing Complexes and the reconquest of the Asteroid Range of the Taygestronese by displaced Lacdrians (now called Lanaxdrians in her honor).
