Gary was a Human research assistant of Darus on the Stargazer. Rali was curious how a human brain would function on another creature, and Gary just happened to be close by.

Gary was saved by Vox and taken into their employ on the Stargazer. Vox has promised to find a solution for Gary's "predicament".
