CC:Session:12: The Belly of the Beast Report
General Summary
Meeting up for the grand opening of the Stargazer, The Agitators had a chance to catch up with Gene and Gary the Grik. Together they explored the fungus infecting Boots and determined it was both ancient and otherworldly. Firefly continued to become more and more restless and irritable, often disappearing for hours at a time.
Vox noticed the second the first alarm went off. A large draconic brute marched through Dragonspine Side with a gang of kobolds on motorcycles. As the group of thugs pushed their way into the ship, Carbide summoned a group of Scarab Riders from the Chantry of Bells to take on the small riders. Rushing in to take on the invaders, Mellow killed one and Carbide stood toe to toe with their boss, Thalach. After holding off a massive blow from Tano's brother, Vox triggered the ship's defense system and unleashed a bucket of bullets into his face.
As the foots soldiers witnessed the death of their boss, they scrambled-two of which quickly dying at the hands of Gene and Gary the Grik. The final two kobolds begged for their lives. Bat begged Vox for her life, saying she could help Vox uncover secrets about Rali's secondary lab. To make a point regarding future betrayal, Vox killed the second kobold and dragged Bat behind them.
Knowing that Tano planned to sign The Orion Support for Workers Act into law that night, The Agitators began to head to Tagera HQ. Taking their bikes into the Upper West Docks, they noticed a bunch of burly workers looking ready for a protest. Scouting them out, they discovered a bar, The Hive, that seemed to be a central point.
Vox and Boots met with Beetle, the leader of TNWU. They explained that they planned to do something about Tano and to have her people prepped to protest. With strong arguments from everyone Beetle agreed on a couple of conditions. First, TNWU needs to keep a good image if they are going to be able to fight for their rights on the larger stage so ithere cannot be a riot. 2) Beetle has a man on the inside who has gone dark and would like the party to rescue him. The Agitators agreed and spent some time sitting down and mapping out their plan to handle the attack.
Entering into Tano Plaza, The Agitators found an apartment complex which seemed like it would create a good access point into Tan's compound. Boots looked up the name of Tano's assistant, Awe, the one person he believed would be able to help cure his madness. They found his apartment empty on the fourth floor, an apartment that looked out directly over Tano's bedroom.
Using some metal coils, Boots leaped across the street. Unfortunately, the strong winds pushed him back and he crashed into a grate. The loud noise forced people to look up and Boots poorly tried to explain that he just worked in maintenance. As Mellow crossed, Firefly began getting extremely anxious and trying to jump into Tano's room where Mellow and Vox could see three draconic creatures up against the glass.
With Firefly becoming more and more anxious, The Agitators headed toward Tano's room. Boots cast silence and stepped into the room with Carbide. Together they pushed back against the wyrmlings and set the stage for Firefly to get his first kill. Mellow then helped Firefly collect the dead wyrmlings hoard, and the little guy went straight to sleep.
Discovering the Tano's room was merely an empty front, they decided it was best to move on. Boots and Mellow headed into the closest to find it similarly staged, despite one item: a necklace that immediately restored Boots' mind and began to heal the spores. Feeling relief, they looked into the fake bathroom, to notice a grate on the floor opening up. Climbing up from a secret room, Claug introduced himself. This slippery brother of Tano promised to help the party kill his sister, if only they could help him break into the company files and make him next-in-line to run the company. Agreeing to work with him, they headed back to meet up with the others.
Vox and Carbide stood at the staircase and a dark force echoed. Carbide could feel a twist in the flow of the realm and the suffering of Yo-Dime. Desperate to save his friends, they decided to move in the direction of the disturbance. Moving quietly, Vox snuck down the starts to see a Aniya woman working over a large book. Deciding not to take chances, they snuck behind her and slit her throat.
