Kyri The Spider
Personality Characteristics
Representation & Legacy
Kyri will forever live on in the systems used by The Elsewhere in a much more refined version of her original system, Symphony. When The War of the Shadows first began, the intergalactic societies of the Children struggled to have any meaningful communications between militaries and other planetary systems. The only unified source of communications was through the gods of the Quartet, who could appear anywhere within a moment's notice, while also sharing this ability through communication as well.
Though a desperately needed tool was needed to unify all these separate networks to effectively combat the Shadows and their infection. As such, Kyri had built the tool that was needed. Symphony was presented as a nexus of all communication threads to be brought through a single network to be redistributed to the proper recipient instantaneously. While this system was initially used for militaries to coordinate troop movement over the vast distances of the universe, Kyri didn't stop at this.
Her tool was also built to monitor all sensors hooked up to any of the thousands of networks across the stars, though she hacked her way into them to make this operational. However, once this had been discovered as she was actively sending any information out to troops fighting on the ground, this information was freely given to her as it had been proving invaluable in detecting sources of infection before official channels had. These systems were then incorporated into Symphony. Everything from satellites to warships, to ground monitoring stations, and atmospheric conditions, all passed through her hands.
Known as The Spider for the amount of web weaving she did to make her system more and more useful as an early warning system, as well as continued use comms system for the Legion of Syn, she was also the first known case where Brownie Speech was used for technology. A technomancy prodigy, a Web Witch skilled enough to rapidly train legions of others like her to operate her system. She could hear code before it transmitted, feel the connections between stations and warcraft, where as most Brownies were attuned to the sound of the universe, she was tuned to the sound of her web.
Though the vast majority of her system is currently inoperable, the only functioning terminals are on The Cradle. Three locations are still communicating with her central hub located in the Cloud Coast Station, submerged along the western channel of the Southern Sea. One station just north of the City of Glaion, one on the Island of Estile, and the fourth located near Minnow. The destruction of the Cradle, as well as the creation of The Burned, destroyed the vast majority of her system, though the repository of all the information gathered during the course of the war is all stored locally at the Cloud Coast Station.
The final aspect of Kyri that has endured the virtual extinction of her people is the gift she left Vilorlith. Kyri had a pet project where she wished to synthesis her personality into the database and system she had built, a project she succeeded in. Kyri and her mind now exist as Symphony itself; she built this into her creation for Vilorlith. A bad habit of speaking what she typed, no matter how much or little needed to happen, a quirk of the Great Mother she found endlessly tedious, as it was endearing. As such, someone only needs to speak to the system for Kyri to awaken and find the information one is hunting for. A gift Vilorlith had found far later in time...

Crescendo:
Is the child technology based on Kyri's original infrastructure, used exclusively in The Elsewhere, as many of the Operations need constant monitoring and automated adjustments. While much of its original functionality remains, it has been adopted into personal use across the surviving Children's societies across the Isly. HUD's built into visors for the military, and augmented reality with half glasses for personal use. Crescendo honors what Kyri had built and then some, though the knowledge that she had transcended herself into her machine remains unknown to the Elsewhere as it stands.

"I've done it, Mother." The subject appears to be very labored in their breathing. Malnourished, oxygen levels low inside Station. Enhanced levels of ammonia and volatile organic compounds throughout Station. "All Station personnel have been rotting for several weeks, one final assault before all the comms went down between stations on the Cradle. I've lost all contact with everything. None of the ships are responding, none of the Citadels, no one." The subject goes into a fit of coughing, bloody. "Rythia is right, I don't think you're gone. If you still do that thing, where you can't type very fast. I hope this helps..." The subject begins slumping over while another coughing fit overcomes subject. "If you find this, any of the terminals, I'll be there." The subject slipped into a vegetative state due to their malnourishment, several of their organs have shut down over the last few hours. Subject's heart has stopped at 11:24 am, Day 189, Year 265. Surface readings indicate high levels of nuclear fallout, High levels of infection, low levels of oxygen across the planet. Orbital observation unable to see past ash clouds over planet's surface... Symphony entering dormant mode: 99% decrease in power generation.
