The Fourth Civil War

The Fourth Civil War is the name given to the ongoing civil war taking place in Kingdom of Enther. The ongoing hostilities had been brewing for a long time, ever since the death of Queen Marjorie Hacksonson during the birth of her second child, Sophia, with King Magnus Hackonson. Her death had a profound effect on the King, which sent him into a state of reclusiveness and depression. This overwhelming grief made him unfit to rule, and thus passed the running of the country to his Prime Minister, Alvar Birg.   Over the coming years, taxes would be increased, hunger and famine swept the nation. Though the the common folk got poorer and suffered, the nobility of the land became richer. This huge divide in social status led to many instances of the common folk rising up against their lords.   Soon, a resistance would be formed, and small battles would take place over the lands. This resulted in the Prime Minister drawring up The Rite of Pacification for The Crown Commission to be able to carry out. This resulted in some towns and villages being destroyed and ransacked under suspicion of rebellion.   In 1030, King Magnus is found dead. The accused, his son Prince Bann, flees the capital. This begins the narrative that Prince Bann is aligned with The Resistance as an attempt to bring the common folk back to the side of the crown, and to an extent it works.   Along side the prince, the former Knight Commander of Enther, Callus Riverwood, and the former Grand Enchanter, Sebastian Moon, are named co-conspirators and also flee the city. However, many stay loyal to the Prince and seek out the resistance in order to free the Kingdom of Enther from the Prime Minister's tyranny.
